Job Description
Responsibilities
- Overall Data Modelling Experience – Strong enterprise data modelling background across large-scale data environments
- Conceptual, Logical & Physical Data Modelling – Hands-on experience developing models across all three layer
- Dimensional Modelling – Strong understanding and implementation of dimensional modelling principles
- Star Schema – Hands-on design and implementation
- Snowflake Schema – Hands-on design and implementation
- Fact & Dimension Modelling – Experience designing fact and dimension tables for analytics / EDW
- Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD) – Practical implementation, preferably multiple SCD types
- Enterprise Data Warehouse – Design and development of enterprise-scale EDW environments
- Data Mart Design – Experience designing / reviewing data marts
- Data Integration Concepts – Understanding of how source systems, integration and downstream analytics structures interact
- Data Warehouse / Data Model Design Review – Ability to assess existing models, identify gaps, duplication, redundancies and recommend improvements
- Vendor Solution Review – Experience reviewing / challenging vendor or SI-delivered data models
- Modern Analytics Platform – Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake or equivalent
- Data Lake / Lakehouse – Understanding of modelling approaches across EDW, Data Lake and Lakehouse environments
- BI / Semantic Modelling – Understanding of semantic layer and analytics consumption patterns
- BI Tools – Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or Looker
- Data Lineage & Metadata – Experience documenting lineage, metadata and business definitions
- Data Quality / MDM – Understanding of data quality frameworks and master data concepts
- Performance & Optimisation – Experience with partitioning, storage structures, refresh/loading performance and query optimisation
- Data Modernisation – Experience supporting EDW modernisation / transformation initiatives
- Stakeholder Management – Able to work with business, architects, engineers and BI teams and conduct modelling workshops
- Financial Services Experience – Banking / Insurance / Financial Services enterprise environment
- Azure Data Ecosystem – ADLS, Synapse, ADF, Fabric, Azure SQL, Databricks, Purview
