Job Purpose

To support MDEC’s IT and Platforms team in delivering, operating and continuously improving technology platforms, applications and digital services through technical assistance, documentation, testing, data analysis, service management and project support. The internship provides practical exposure to enterprise applications, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, AI and automation while developing professional and technical capabilities in a structured working environment.

Responsibilities

Stakeholder Perspective

• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, IT team members, technology vendors and service providers under the guidance of the assigned supervisor.
• Assist in coordinating meetings, technical discussions, demonstrations, user engagement and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Communicate progress, findings, issues and follow-up actions clearly and professionally.

Internal Process Perspective

• Assist in monitoring and supporting business applications, digital platforms and IT services, including basic troubleshooting and issue coordination.
• Support IT service management activities involving incidents, service requests, problems, changes and operational follow-up.
• Assist with application testing, enhancement validation, User Acceptance Testing and preparation of test evidence.
• Support exploration and proof-of-concept activities involving AI, automation and other emerging technologies, including responsible and secure use.
• Assist with basic cloud, infrastructure and cybersecurity activities, system inventories, security documentation and remediation tracking where assigned.
• Collect, organise and analyse operational information, and prepare reports, dashboards, presentations, process flows, user guides and knowledge-base content.
• Participate in IT projects, workshops and research activities, maintaining action trackers, project documentation and status updates.
• Maintain confidentiality, information security and professional conduct in all assigned work.

• Develop practical knowledge of enterprise IT operations, platforms, cloud, cybersecurity, service management, AI and automation.
• Participate actively in coaching, technical learning, team knowledge-sharing and continuous-improvement activities.
• Propose practical ideas to improve processes, reporting, user experience and service delivery.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing or a related discipline.
• Basic understanding of IT systems, applications, networking, databases, software development or digital technologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
• Exposure to Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Microsoft Azure, Power BI, AI tools, automation, SQL, Python, JavaScript, cybersecurity, ITIL or application testing is advantageous.
• Ability to perform basic research, data collection, analysis, documentation, testing and reporting.
