Role Description This full-time Trade Finance Documentary Expert role is based in KL in a hybrid working model, combining on-site collaboration with some work-from-home flexibility. The role involves reviewing, drafting, and processing documentary trade finance instruments, with a focus on letters of credit and related documents in line with UCP 600 and other applicable rules. The expert will analyze transaction documentation, verify compliance with regulatory and bank standards, and resolve discrepancies with internal stakeholders and external counterparties. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining accurate records, supporting process improvement initiatives, and contributing to the design and enhancement of AI-enabled workflows for trade finance operations. The role requires close cooperation with relationship managers, operations teams, and technology specialists to ensure timely, high-quality delivery for clients.


Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Trade Finance and Finance, including practical experience with international trade transactions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Letters of Credit and UCP 600, with a track record of handling documentary credits and related instruments.
  • Proficiency in Business Relationship Management, with the ability to communicate clearly with clients, counterparties, and internal teams.
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills for reviewing complex documentation and identifying risks or discrepancies.
  • Familiarity with banking operations, compliance requirements, and standard trade finance practices.
  • Comfort working with digital tools and willingness to engage with AI-enabled systems and process automation.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, managing priorities and deadlines.
  • Relevant education in finance, business, economics, or a related field; professional trade finance certifications are an advantage.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills in English; additional language skills related to key markets are beneficial.
