About Our Client
We are representing our client, an established 3PL and international freight forwarding service provider. As a trusted, pioneer logistics operator specializing in ocean freight, air freight, customs brokerage, and warehousing, they deliver integrated end-to-end global supply chain solutions.
To support their expanding sea freight import operations, they are seeking a meticulous and proactive Sea Import Coordinator to join their team in Shah Alam.
Key Responsibilities
- Shipment & File Management: Create and update job files promptly in the system, ensuring precise recording of shipment details, documentation, and costs.
- Tracking & ETA Monitoring: Track vessel arrivals, monitor schedule changes, and keep clients and internal operations informed of clearance or delivery impacts.
- Document & Permit Verification: Check bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists for accuracy. Identify regulatory permit needs and secure approvals prior to arrival.
- Customs & Release Coordination: Verify Arrival Notices (NOA), submit clearance documents to customs/operations teams, and process payment requests to ensure timely cargo release.
- Transport & Delivery Scheduling: Book haulage with the Truck Planner, monitor cargo collection/deliveries, and secure receiving confirmations.
- Demurrage & Cost Control: Monitor container free time, storage deadlines, and detention dates to prevent unnecessary charges and resolve delays proactively.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in sea import operations or freight forwarding.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of sea import processes (NOA, customs clearance, cargo release, delivery) and Incoterms.
- Document Accuracy: Proven ability to check shipping documents (B/L, Invoice, Packing List) and catch errors or missing details.
- Operational Skills: Strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication with clients, agents, shipping lines, and truckers.
- Bonus: Experience in preparing and submitting customs declarations is an added advantage.
Additional Information:
- Working Hours: Monday – Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM | Saturday: Half-day (Alternate Saturdays off upon confirmation)
