Job Summary

Welcome to the forefront of digital banking at Aeon Bank.

Our Data and AI team is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to help us build the future of AI and machine learning. In this role, you won't just be crunching numbers in a silo—you will own the entire lifecycle of data science projects, from that first "what if?" conversation all the way through to deployment and real-world evaluation.

You’ll team up with brilliant minds across Finance, Risk, Marketing, and Operations to build AI solutions that are not just smart, but reliable, explainable, and scalable. We are looking for a hands-on builder who knows what it takes to get models into production and can easily translate complex data into everyday business decisions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Bridge the gap: Work closely with Product, Engineering, and business leaders to turn big-picture goals into clear data science problems and trackable success metrics.
  • Build and iterate: Lead the charge on data exploration, feature engineering, and model development using the right statistical and ML techniques for the job.
  • Own the lifecycle: Keep an eye on models once they’re out in the wild. You’ll track performance, watch for data and model drift, and make sure we are delivering real business impact.
  • Pioneer GenAI: Prototype Generative AI initiatives across different domains, always keeping robust governance and human-in-the-loop oversight top of mind.
  • Collaborate with our Machine Learning Engineering crew to deploy models seamlessly, set up monitoring, and maintain rock-solid, reproducible release practices.
  • Document with purpose: Document your methodologies, assumptions, and limitations so our models remain explainable, auditable, and transparent.
  • Lead by example: Mentor junior data scientists, championing high standards for writing clean, reproducible, and production-ready code.
  • Communicate with impact: Share your findings, trade-offs, and recommendations in a way that makes sense to both technical experts and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered for the Data Scientist role.

Job Requirements

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science and Machine Learning, with a proven track record of getting models out of notebooks and scaling them into production.
  • A knack for problem-solving. You know how to match the right model to the right business problem and balance model performance with explainability, operational feasibility, and actual business value.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL to manipulate complex datasets, conduct deep statistical analyses, and engineer robust predictive models.
  • A deep foundation in statistics, predictive modeling, machine learning algorithms, and model evaluation techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Databricks) and MLOps orchestration (MLflow, Airflow) to build scalable training pipelines.
  • Up-to-date expertise in Agentic AI architectures—you know your way around various agentic frameworks, memory management, tool integration, and observability.
  • Demonstrated experience training deep learning models using frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and communication skills. You can naturally influence business stakeholders and confidently lead cross-functional initiatives.
