Responsibilities

• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Follow instructions from the Executive or Sous Chef and report issues promptly
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
• Comply with food safety, sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Skills

• Cooking experience preferred, including as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
• Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
• Familiarity with industry best practices is an advantage
• Culinary diploma is an advantage
• Valid food handler certificate and typhoid vaccination, or willing to obtain
• Eager to learn and continuously improve culinary skills
