• Tools:Knowledge of7 QC Tools (e.g., Fishbone, Pareto charts), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.

• Software:Competence inMS Office for data analysis and reporting, and often ERP systems.

3. Critical Soft Skills

• Attention to Detail: Meticulousness is vital for identifying deviations from specifications.

• Analytical Problem-Solving: Ability to interpret data trends and perform deep investigations into defects.

• Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to liaise with suppliers, regulatory bodies (like JAKIM or KKM), and internal teams.

• Process Management (QA):

  • Develop and maintain the Food Safety System (FSS), including manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and quality policies.

  • Coordinate and conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with standards like FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, GMP, HACCP or Halal.

  • Manage Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and non-conformance reports (NCR) to address root causes of issues.

• Operational Control (QC):

  • Oversee inspections of incoming raw materials, in-process production, and final finished goods.

  • Perform sensory evaluations, laboratory tests, or dimensional checks using tools like calipers and gauges.

  • Investigate customer complaints through Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement solutions.

• Documentation & Training:

  • Maintain accurate quality records, test results, and supplier certifications for audit traceability.

  • Conduct staff training on quality standards, hygiene practices, and safety protocols.
