Education
Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Chemistry, or a related field.
Note: Candidates with strong relevant working experience (more than 5 years in food R&D or related fields) may be considered even if they do not fully meet the formal educational requirements.
Experience
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in food manufacturing or food product development.
Experience in sauces, seasonings, frozen food, ready-to-eat, or processed food is an added advantage.
Experience handling product commercialization and scale-up is preferred.
Technical Knowledge
Strong understanding of food formulation and ingredient functionality.
Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, Halal, and Malaysian food regulations.
Familiarity with nutritional labeling and product costing.
Tanggungjawab
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Development
Conduct trend and market research to identify emerging consumer preferences, industry trends, and
competitor benchmarking for new product opportunities.
Develop new food products and reformulate existing products to enhance quality, cost efficiency, and
market competitiveness.
Conduct laboratory and production trials to evaluate product performance and feasibility.
Prepare product formulations, specifications, and technical documentation.
Source and evaluate new ingredients and packaging materials.
Benchmark competitor products and identify market trends.
Product Improvement and Cost Optimization
Identify opportunities for recipe optimization and cost reduction without compromising product
quality.
Work closely with Procurement and Production to evaluate alternative raw materials.
Monitor product performance and recommend continuous improvements.
Production Trial and Commercialization
Coordinate pilot runs and first production trials.
Troubleshoot issues during scale-up and commercialization.
Ensure smooth transfer of product formulations to the production team.
Regulatory and Quality Compliance
Ensure all products comply with relevant food regulations and labelling requirements.
Maintain compliance with HACCP, GMP, Halal, and other applicable standards.
Collaborate with QA/QC to ensure product quality and food safety.

Documentation and Reporting
Prepare and maintain product development records, specifications, and test reports.
Update product costing and technical information.
Present development progress and recommendations to Management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Sales & Marketing, Production, Procurement, and Quality Assurance.
Support customer requests, product customization, and technical inquiries.
Act as the focal person for the development, review, implementation, and continuous improvement
of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to R&D activities and product processes.
Provide leadership and guidance to ensure SOPs are properly documented, communicated, and
consistently followed across relevant departments.
Liaison and collaborate with relevant external bodies, government agencies, research institutions, and
universities for R&D development, innovation, and industry best practices.
Provide leadership, supervision, and guidance to subordinates, including task delegation, performance
monitoring, and capability development to ensure effective team execution.
Lead product testing activities including sensory evaluation, shelf-life testing, stability testing, and
validation of product performance prior to commercialization.
