Requirements
Compliance & Licensing: Handle all government approvals, license applications, and compliance inspections; proactively monitor local policy changes to mitigate operational risks.
Cross-Cultural Integration: Serve as the primary communication bridge between the Chinese management team and local Malaysian staff using fluent Chinese, Malay, and English to eliminate language and cultural barriers.
Team Cohesion: Assist the Factory Manager in cross-cultural team building, resolving communication conflicts, and bridging cultural gaps to improve overall team execution and morale.
Project Implementation: Support the Factory Manager in executing factory projects, tracking progress, and coordinating resources to ensure production targets, infrastructure construction, and equipment installations are completed on schedule.
Operations & Cost Optimization: Leverage a deep understanding of the Malaysian manufacturing environment to optimize production processes, implement strict cost controls, and improve site management.
Daily Management & Systems: Assist in daily factory management, formulate monthly/annual work plans, and ensure local implementation of safety, environmental, and food safety management systems.
Crisis & Employee Management: Handle local labour relations and disputes, and manage operational emergencies effectively to maintain a stable and harmonious production environment.
Reporting & Insights: Regularly report local policy updates, staff feedback, and operational performance to the Factory Manager and Group headquarters to provide local insights for strategic decision-making.
Nationality & Status: Malaysian / candidates with valid legal working status in Malaysia.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Food Science, Tea Science, or related engineering/manufacturing fields is preferred.
Industry Knowledge: Well-versed in production operations, local compliance requirements, and common industry challenges within the Food, Chemical, or FMCG manufacturing sectors.
Language Skills: High proficiency in written and spoken Chinese (listening, speaking, reading, and writing), Malay, and English to facilitate effective trilingual communication across the organization.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive operational support to the Factory Manager by driving daily production activities and managing local project execution. This role acts as a key organizational link, coordinating between multinational leadership and local employees to align company culture and goals. Additionally, the position is responsible for navigating Malaysian regulatory requirements, securing necessary corporate licenses, and maintaining strategic partnerships with government authorities to safeguard compliant, uninterrupted factory operations.
