Basic requirements:

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Proven experience as a Linux System Administrator or Engineer.

• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and command-line tools.

• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

• Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).

• Familiarity with virtualization and containerization concepts and technologies.

• Knowledge of security best practices and tools (firewalls, SELinux, intrusion detection).

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Will be an added advantage, if you:

• Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions.

• Experience with public and private cloud platforms.

• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Certification in Linux (RHCE, CompTIA Linux+, etc.) is a plus.

• Experience with version control systems (Git).

Linux Server Management:

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (CentOS, Ubuntu, RHEL, etc.).

• Perform routine system administration tasks, including patch management, backups, and monitoring.

• Ensure system security and compliance with company policies and industry standards.

• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

• Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.

• Optimize server configurations for performance improvements.

• Analyze system logs and identify potential issues.

Troubleshooting and Support:

• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for Linux-based systems.

• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner.

• Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve cross-functional issues.

VDI and Cloud Environment Management (Good to Have):

• Manage and maintain VDI solutions, ensuring optimal performance and resource utilization.

• Configure and manage cloud infrastructure (Private and Public) and integrate with existing systems.

• Implement and manage containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

Automation and Scripting:

• Develop and maintain scripts (Bash, Python, etc.) for automation of tasks.

• Implement automation tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.

• Generate reports on system performance, security status, and other key metrics.
