Job Description

Requirements

  • Assist chefs and cooks in food preparation, including chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and preparing sauces and marinades.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work station, ensuring all surfaces, tools, and equipment are sanitized according to food safety standards.

  • Follow recipes and cooking instructions accurately to prepare a variety of dishes.

  • Learn and adhere to all company policies and procedures, particularly those related to food handling, hygiene, and safety.

  • Support the kitchen team during peak hours by performing tasks such as plating dishes, restocking ingredients, and washing dishes.

  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff.

  • Communicate effectively with team members in Mandarin to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

  • Gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, professional kitchen environment.

  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Assist chefs and cooks in food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and preparing sauces and marinades according to recipes and established standards.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work station, ensuring all surfaces, utensils, and equipment are sanitized and stored properly to meet health and safety regulations.

  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and mixers, following safety guidelines and reporting any malfunctions immediately.

  • Monitor food stock levels and assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles are followed to minimize waste.

  • Support the plating and presentation of dishes, ensuring consistency and adherence to quality standards before food is served to customers.

  • Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff and service team members to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations during peak hours.

  • Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols, including proper handwashing, temperature control, and waste disposal procedures.
