Requirements

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience:2–5 years of procurement experience, specifically within themetal manufacturing, fabrication, or heavy engineering industry.

  • Strong command of MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) for data analysis.

  • Soft Skills: Sharp negotiation skills, excellent communication, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work under tight production deadlines.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Executive / Purchaser to manage our procurement activities. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing high-quality raw materials (such as steel, aluminum, hardware, and tooling), negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery to keep our metal manufacturing operations running smoothly. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the metals market, manufacturing supply chains, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Raw Material Procurement: Source and purchase raw materials (e.g., sheets, coils, tubes, plates), machinery spare parts, hardware, and tooling required for metal stamping, fabrication, or machining processes.

  • Supplier Management & Negotiation: Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors. Negotiate the best prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules to optimize cost savings without compromising quality.

  • Material Requirement Planning (MRP): Coordinate closely with the Production and Planning teams to monitor inventory levels and issue Purchase Orders (POs) based on production schedules.

  • Quality & Compliance: Collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to handle material rejection, supplier non-conformance issues, and return-to-vendor processes.

  • Logistics Coordination: Track shipments, manage delivery timelines, and resolve any supply chain disruptions or customs clearance issues for imported materials.

  • Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, especially fluctuations in global metal commodity prices , to make strategic and cost-effective purchasing decisions.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate purchasing records, update the system, and prepare monthly procurement reports on spending and vendor performance.
