About the role

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Executive (Pharmacist) to join Kencana Pharma Tech Sdn Bhd in Jitra, Kedah. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety and compliance across our pharmaceutical and medical devices manufacturing operations. As a Quality Assurance Executive, you will be responsible for maintaining rigorous quality control procedures, regulatory compliance and operational excellence throughout our production processes. This role is integral to our commitment to delivering safe, effective and compliant pharmaceutical products to our customers and patients.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive quality inspections and testing of pharmaceutical products and medical devices at various stages of manufacturing to ensure compliance with established quality standards and specifications
• Develop, implement and maintain quality assurance protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation systems in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
• Monitor and analyse quality data, test results and manufacturing records to identify trends, variances and potential areas for improvement
• Investigate product defects, non-conformances and deviations, determining root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
• Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and other relevant regulatory frameworks
• Conduct internal audits and facilitate external regulatory audits, preparing documentation and addressing findings to maintain certification standards
• Collaborate with production, research and development, and regulatory teams to review new formulations, processes and equipment before implementation
• Maintain and manage quality control laboratory equipment calibration, validation and documentation
• Prepare and review batch records, stability reports and regulatory submissions to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Train and mentor production staff on quality procedures, regulatory requirements and best practices to foster a quality-focused culture

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or a related pharmaceutical science discipline
• Valid pharmacist registration or professional qualification recognised in Malaysia
• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in pharmaceutical or medical device quality assurance, quality control or related roles
• Strong knowledge of GMP, regulatory requirements, pharmaceutical standards and quality management systems applicable to the pharmaceuticals and medical devices industry
• Experience with quality control testing, analytical methods, laboratory procedures and documentation systems
• Proficiency in data analysis, statistical methods and quality management tools such as SPC, design of experiments (DOE) and risk management
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with specifications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, with the ability to prepare technical reports and communicate findings to stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to investigate issues systematically and implement effective solutions
• Familiarity with manufacturing information systems, laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or quality management software is advantageous
