Job Description

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent is an added advantage

  • Minimum 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience (preferably in a professional services firm)

  • Experience handling clients within the renovation and construction industry is preferred

  • Prior experience reviewing work and guiding junior team members

  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g. Xero) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams)

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to manage multiple clients and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in Mandarin (required to liaise with China-based clients); familiarity with Mandarin speaking work environments is an added advantage

  • Malaysian citizen or valid work authorization

Responsibilities

  • Handle full set of accounts for assigned client portfolio

  • Manage daily accounting functions including AP, AR, general ledger, and bank reconciliations

  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reports

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements

  • Assist in tax-related matters and liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and customs

  • Handle Sales Tax (ST) obligations on imported materials and coordinate with Royal Malaysian Customs Department

  • Process payroll including statutory contributions (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB)

  • Review work prepared by junior team members to ensure accuracy and quality

  • Liaise with clients (including China-based clients) on accounting and financial matters

  • Track and compile project-level financial data (contract values, payments, supplier/subcontractor status, cash flow)

  • Coordinate financial reporting and data exchange with China headquarters

  • Identify process improvements and enhance operational efficiency

  • Support ad hoc assignments as required by management
