Job Description

Requirements

  • Education: Certificate/Diploma in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or SKM (Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia) Level 2/3.

  • Experience: Minimum 4-5 years of hands-on experience in diesel engine maintenance and repair (generator sets, industrial air compressors, or heavy vehicles).

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of diesel fuel injection systems, cooling systems, air intake, electrical wiring, and basic hydraulics.

  • License: Valid Class D driving license required

  • Attitude & Physical Fit: Strong problem-solving skills, willingness to work overtime (OT) and perform field work, and ability to handle physical tasks.

About the Role

Megah Equipment Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced and dedicated Diesel Engine Technician to join our technical team. In this role, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel engines across our fleet of industrial generator sets, air compressors, diesel forklifts, and related industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance & Servicing: Perform routine preventive maintenance, oil/filter changes, and inspections on diesel engines, generator sets, air compressors, and heavy machinery.

  • Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Identify mechanical, electrical, and fuel system faults using diagnostic tools and systematic physical checks.

  • Engine Overhauls: Carry out minor and major engine repairs, valve adjustments, top/bottom-end overhauls, and component replacements (injectors, turbochargers, water pumps, starter motors).

  • Field & Site Service: Attend on-site service calls, breakdowns, and maintenance requests at customer facilities, construction sites, and oil & gas plants.

  • Testing & Quality Checks: Conduct load tests and operational testing on reconditioned and rented diesel equipment prior to delivery.

  • Documentation: Keep clear records of maintenance logs, parts replaced, and service reports.
