Job Description

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting roles, demonstrating a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in managing the general ledger, including preparing and posting journal entries accurately and efficiently.

  • Experience in preparing financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in compliance with accounting standards.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting software and systems; experience with [Specific Software Name] is a plus.

  • Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English, both written and spoken, to effectively communicate with local stakeholders and international clients.

  • Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all accounting tasks.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with local tax regulations and compliance requirements in Kota Bharu is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial data.

  • Prepare and post journal entries, reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Develop and generate accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to management to support informed decision-making.

  • Assist with the preparation and coordination of audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and company policies.

  • Maintain fixed asset records and perform depreciation calculations.

  • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment reconciliation, and collections.

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and investigate any differences.

  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings.
