Vorix Woodcraft Sdn Bhd is looking for a creative, detail-oriented and responsible Interior Designer to join our growing team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing practical and visually appealing interior and custom cabinetry designs based on clients' requirements, lifestyle, budget and site conditions.

This role requires a good understanding of space planning, built-in cabinetry, materials, finishes and design detailing, as well as the ability to coordinate closely with the sales, production and project teams to ensure that proposed designs are practical and achievable.

Candidates with experience in custom-made cabinetry, kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, built-in furniture, residential interior design or related industries will have a strong advantage.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, or a related field.

• Preferably 3-5 years of relevant interior design experience.

• Experience in custom-made cabinetry, kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, built-in furniture or residential interior design will be a strong advantage.

• Good understanding of space planning, cabinetry design, dimensions, materials, finishes and furniture detailing.

• Proficient in relevant design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp and 3D rendering software.

• Able to produce clear and presentable 2D drawings, 3D visuals and design presentations.

• Good sense of design, colour coordination, proportion and material matching.

• Detail-oriented with good accuracy in measurements and drawings.

• Able to understand clients' requirements and translate them into practical and attractive design solutions.

• Good communication and presentation skills.

• Able to communicate effectively in Mandarin and English, both spoken and written.

• Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with sales, production and project teams.

• Responsible, proactive and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

• Willing to attend site visits and client meetings when required.

• Possess own transport will be an added advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile

We are particularly interested in candidates who have hands-on experience in custom cabinetry and built-in furniture design and understand how a design progresses from:

Client Requirement → Space Planning → Design Concept → 3D Visualisation → Material Selection → Design Confirmation → Technical Coordination → Production → Installation

The ideal candidate should not only be creative but also understand the importance of design practicality, dimensions, materials and production feasibility to ensure that the final built product can be delivered according to the approved desig

Key Responsibilities

• Meet with clients and/or work closely with the sales team to understand design requirements, preferences, lifestyle needs and budget.

• Develop creative and functional interior design concepts based on the client's requirements and actual site conditions.

• Prepare space planning, furniture layouts, design concepts, mood boards and material selections.

• Prepare 2D drawings, 3D visualisations and design presentations for client review.

• Design custom-made cabinetry including kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, TV cabinets, shoe cabinets, display cabinets and other built-in furniture.

• Recommend suitable materials, colours, finishes, hardware and accessories based on design requirements and budget.

• Revise designs and drawings based on client feedback and approved requirements.

• Conduct site measurements and site visits when required.

• Ensure design dimensions and details are accurate before proceeding to the next stage.

• Coordinate closely with the sales, project, technical and production teams to ensure design intent and client requirements are clearly communicated.

• Ensure proposed designs are practical, technically feasible and suitable for production and installation.

• Assist in resolving design-related issues arising during production or installation.

• Maintain proper documentation and records of drawings, revisions, material selections and client approvals.

• Manage multiple design projects and ensure assigned work is completed according to the required timeline.

• Keep updated with current interior design trends, cabinetry solutions, materials, hardware and industry developments.

• Participate in showroom consultations, exhibitions and company events when required.

• Perform other design-related duties assigned by management from time to time.
