What You Will Do

At SPL, you are an integral part of our team - driving meaningful projects and witnessing the tangible difference your work makes. As an Engineer, IT Infrastructure, your responsibility is focused on cloud engineering. You will manage and support AWS cloud operations, ensuring secure, reliable, and cost-optimized infrastructure. This will include automation, monitoring, deployments, incident response, disaster recovery, security governance, and continuous improvement of cloud platform efficiency.

Key Tasks you will be involved in

Cloud Platform Operations

  • Manage AWS cloud infrastructure across production (24x7) and non-production environments, ensuring high availability, scalability, and resilience.
  • Support core AWS services including EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, Subnets, Load Balancers, IAM, and security configurations.

Infrastructure as Code & Automation

  • Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform/CloudFormation to implement reusable infrastructure templates.
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, scaling, and patching workflows.

Monitoring, Logging & Observability

  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging using AWS CloudWatch or third-party tools (Dynatrace, Grafana).
  • Perform proactive monitoring, capacity analysis, and dashboard management.

Backup, Recovery & Disaster Recovery

  • Design and manage backup strategies, snapshot policies, and data retention.
  • Support DR planning, execution, and drills to ensure RTO/RPO compliance.

Security & Compliance

  • Enforce cloud security best practices: IAM, network security, and encryption.
  • Support regulatory and security compliance (IM8, PCI DSS), and work with SecOps on vulnerability remediation.

Deployment & Release Support

  • Support cloud-based application deployments and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Perform post-deployment validation and system checks.

Incident Management & Troubleshooting

  • Investigate and resolve infrastructure incidents, performance issues, and connectivity problems.
  • Participate in major incident response and RCA, collaborating with application, database, and network teams.

Network & Connectivity

  • Manage AWS networking, VPN, and Direct Connect integration.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity between cloud and on-premise/external systems.

Certification Authority (CA) Management

  • Manage certificate lifecycle: generation, issuance, enrollment, validation, renewal, and revocation.
  • Handle Certificate Signing Requests (CSRs).

FinOps & Cost Optimisation

  • Monitor and optimise AWS resource utilisation and costs with tagging strategies and cost allocation models.
  • Recommend rightsizing, reserved instances, and savings plans; support FinOps reporting and governance.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain architecture diagrams, SOPs, runbooks, and incident reports.
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Operational Support

  • Participate in after-hours/weekend/public holiday support for maintenance, deployments, and critical incident response.
  • Perform OS/software patching and hardware maintenance during off-peak hours.
