The Senior IT Manager is responsible for the design, development, implementation and continuous enhancement of in-house software applications, particularly finance and accounting systems supporting business operations.

The incumbent will spearhead the development of proprietary financial management applications from the ground up, ensuring seamless integration with other business systems, including procurement, inventory management, manufacturing, sales and distribution. This includes overseeing the entire software development lifecycle, from business requirements gathering and system architecture to development, testing, deployment and ongoing maintenance.

Responsibilities and Duties

In-House Software Development & Financial Systems

• Lead the end-to-end design, development and implementation of proprietary in-house software applications, with primary emphasis on finance and accounting systems.
• Spearhead the development of core financial modules, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), financial reporting and other accounting-related functionalities.
• Work closely with Finance and other business stakeholders to understand accounting processes, operational requirements and system specifications, translating them into practical software solutions.
• Ensure the integration of finance and accounting applications with key operational systems, including procurement, inventory management, manufacturing, costing, sales and distribution.
• Oversee the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, system architecture, database design, application development, testing, deployment and maintenance.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to in-house software development teams, ensuring adherence to coding standards, system architecture principles and development best practices.
• Design and implement scalable, secure and reliable software solutions capable of supporting multi-entity and cross-border business operations.
• Establish appropriate financial system controls, including user access management, audit trails, data integrity, transaction validation and system reconciliation capabilities.
• Evaluate existing applications and identify opportunities for system enhancements, automation and process improvements.

IT Project & Vendor Management

• Lead and manage IT software development and system implementation projects, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines, budgets and quality standards.
• Oversee outsourced software development projects, including vendor evaluation, technical scoping, project monitoring, quality assurance and delivery management.
• Coordinate with external software developers, technology vendors and consultants to ensure solutions meet business and technical requirements.
• Review and manage IT contracts, vendor agreements and technology procurement to optimise cost-effectiveness and minimise operational risks.
• Establish project governance, documentation and reporting processes to ensure transparency, accountability and effective project execution.

IT Operations, Infrastructure & Governance

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, ensuring system availability, reliability, security and performance.
• Plan and implement IT infrastructure, network connectivity and system requirements for new offices, factories, warehouses and project sites.
• Establish and maintain IT policies, standard operating procedures, system documentation and operational workflows.
• Ensure appropriate cybersecurity, data protection, backup and disaster recovery measures are implemented across the Group.
• Monitor IT infrastructure and application performance, identifying potential risks and implementing preventive measures.
• Ensure IT systems and practices comply with applicable regulatory, security and corporate governance requirements.
