Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive Business Development professional to support the expansion of bb.q Chicken in Malaysia. The role focuses on identifying franchise partners, developing new store opportunities, and managing the development process from initial enquiries through agreement signing and store opening.

Candidates with experience in international F&B franchise brands are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify and develop potential franchisees, multi-unit operators, investors, and strategic business partners.

- Generate leads through networking, referrals, franchise exhibitions, and direct outreach.

- Assess prospective partners’ financial capacity, operating experience, and suitability for the brand.

- Identify potential store locations and assess market demand, competition, rental terms, and commercial viability.

- Build relationships with landlords, shopping mall leasing teams, property agents, and prospective franchise partners.

- Present the franchise business model, investment requirements, development process, and commercial terms in line with company guidelines.

- Coordinate negotiations, internal approvals, and franchise agreement execution.

- Work closely with Operations, Finance, Marketing, and SCM teams to support new store development and opening readiness.

- Maintain an updated development pipeline and report on leads, negotiations, signed agreements, and opening schedules.

- Monitor market trends and recommend opportunities for sustainable expansion across Malaysia.

Required Qualifications

- Relevant experience in business development, franchise development, F&B expansion, or commercial leasing; ideally 3–5 years.

- Proven ability to generate leads, manage negotiations, and close business opportunities.

- Understanding of franchise business models and restaurant economics.

- Strong communication, presentation, relationship management, and negotiation skills.

- Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

- Professional working proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

- Willingness to travel within Malaysia.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with international or global F&B franchise brands, particularly QSR or restaurant chains.

- Experience in franchisee recruitment, multi-unit development, or new market expansion.

- An established network of potential franchisees, investors, landlords, or shopping mall leasing teams in Malaysia.

- Experience working with regional teams or overseas headquarters.

- Ability to assess store feasibility and review basic financial projections.

Key Performance Indicators

- Qualified franchise leads generated.

- Franchise agreements signed.

- New store openings achieved against the development plan.

- Conversion rate from enquiries to signed agreements.

- Accuracy of pipeline reporting and achievement of development milestones.
