About the role
Responsible for supporting the Managing Director in his concurrent role as Business Strategy Head by providing strategic planning, business analysis, market sensing, project coordination and management reporting support for the Business Group. The incumbent helps translate business priorities into actionable plans, supports cross-functional initiatives and provides timely insights to improve decision-making, competitiveness and operational sustainability.
Key responsibilities
Support the Managing Director in developing, tracking and reviewing Business Group strategic priorities
Prepare business review materials, management updates, Board/EXCO inputs and strategy papers using accurate operational, financial and market information
Maintain a consolidated view of strategic initiatives, key milestones, risks, dependencies and follow-up actions across the Business Group
Conduct market research, competitor scans and customer trend analysis relevant to YRI's existing and potential business lines
Provide concise insights on market opportunities, tender pipelines, customer demand, pricing trends and sector developments
Coordinate cross-functional strategic projects involving Kitchen, Bakery, Services, Commercial Operations, Technical Services and Corporate Services
Track project progress, prepare dashboards and highlight issues requiring Managing Director attention
Support productivity, business transformation, digitalisation and cost-optimisation initiatives
Assist in preparing business cases for new opportunities, partnerships, investments and operating model changes
Support tender strategy by consolidating operational inputs, costing assumptions, market information and risk considerations
About you
Degree or Diploma in Business, Economics, Finance, Operations Management, Marketing, Data Analytics or related discipline
At least 2 to 4 years of experience in business analysis, strategy support, project coordination, market research, operations planning or commercial support
Experience in manufacturing, food services, logistics, social enterprise or government-linked organisations is advantageous
Business analysis, market research, report writing, presentation development and project tracking skills
Able to interpret operational and financial data and translate findings into clear recommendations
Strong written and verbal communication skills with good stakeholder coordination ability
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and basic dashboard/reporting tools
Demonstrates accountability, analytical thinking, initiative, adaptability, teamwork and sound judgement.
