Role -

     Design, build, and scale backend services and data pipelines that power search indexing

     Own performance, capacity, and reliability for your components — including latency, freshness, and indexing throughput

     Debug and resolve complex production issues across distributed systems

     Partner with search ranking, serving, and product teams to evolve the indexing stack toward new requirements

     Raise the technical bar through design reviews, code reviews, and mentorship of other engineers

     Drive technical direction for your area, including migrations off legacy components

Minimum qualifications

-5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on backend or distributed systems

     Strong programming skills in one or more of C++, Java, Go, Rust, or Python

     Hands-on experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems in production

     Experience diagnosing and fixing performance, scalability, and reliability problems

     Demonstrated ability to own ambiguous, multi-quarter technical problems end to end

Preferred qualifications

     Direct experience with searchinfrastructure: inverted indexes, indexing pipelines, retrieval, or queryserving

     Experience with stream processingand large-scale data systems

     Experience with storage systems,caching layers, or sharding and replication strategies

     Track record of migrating orre-platforming production systems with no user-visible disruption
