Yoga Instructor – Job Description

About Us

Soul Yoga is a home-grown yoga studio committed to making yoga accessible and affordable for everyone. As a “studio without walls”, we do not lease a fixed brick-and-mortar studio. Our classes are conducted out of Free Movement Dance Studios at Bukit Merah Central.

We are looking for part-time or freelance yoga teachers to join us.

We currently need freelance teachers to cover classes on some dates in October and November and subsequently, on an as-needed basis.

Remuneration

$50 per 1hr class

Key Responsibilities

· Design and lead basic yoga classes with a good mix of stretching, strength and balancing components. Classes should be engaging but not too challenging or fast-paced for beginners.

· Provide clear instructions, demonstrations and adjustments to clients where appropriate, ensuring safety and catering for individual limitations, injuries or health conditions.

· Maintain a positive and encouraging class atmosphere.

· Arrive early to set up, ensure studio cleanliness and check members in. You would need to be comfortable unlocking the studio and giving the studio a quick vacuum and/or floor wipe before class starts.

Requirements

· Certified Yoga Instructor (RYT200 or equivalent) with at least 1 yr teaching experience.

· Able to design classes, teach and guide beginners and those who are not confident in yoga, whilst offering enough progressions for the classes to be engaging to different ability levels.

· Professional, punctual and reliable

· Able to teach on weekends.

· Good understanding of alignment, safety and anatomy.

· Positive, friendly and patient personality.
