Senior Associate Architect (2iC - second in charge), Stadium & Arena | Singapore

Most architects who’ve worked on a stadium or arena did it as one of forty people on the team. You knew the bowl, you knew the back of house, and you probably knew more about egress than your project lead. But your title didn’t say any of that.

A global practice hiring two genuine second-in-commands in its Singapore studio.

What “2IC” actually means here:

You sit between the project lead and the design team. You run the team day to day, coordinate the consultants (structure, MEP, fire, acoustics, seating, AV), and stand in for the project lead when they’re not in the room with the client or contractor. You’ll be making design and delivery decisions, not marking up drawings for someone else.

What you’ll need:

• Stadium, arena or major entertainment venue experience, ideally taken from design through to construction. This is the one thing they won’t bend on.
• Around 10 to 15 years in, at Associate or Senior Associate level, or a Senior Architect who already does the 2IC job without the title.
• Strong in Revit and BIM coordination, and comfortable directing a model team rather than living inside one.

These are some of the most significant venues being built in Southeast Asia right now, at different stages, so you’ll build design and delivery credibility at the same time. The practice does nothing but venues, so you’re not the “sports person” in a generalist office. And a real 2IC title is the clearest path to leading these projects yourself.
