* **Job Title:** Integration/Support Engineer
* **Location:** Singapore
* **Employment Type:** Full-time
* **About our client:**
Our client is a global leader developing mission-critical solutions for the telco industry
* **Job Summary:**
We are seeking three full-time Integration/Support Engineers to be embedded on-site for a turnkey, greenfield, bare-metal telco project in Singapore. In this bare-metal environment (no cloud), hardware, switches, firewalls, and Red Hat servers are initially deployed by vendors; you will take over the day-to-day operations and maintenance of both the infrastructure and the Cell Broadcast application. Following an initial 3-4 month product training period before go-live, you will provide L1/L2 operational support on rotating 8-9 hour shifts (morning, afternoon, evening) from our office in Jurong East, serving as the trusted technical and relational face on the ground while collaborating closely with our R&D and L3 support teams.
* **Target Candidate Profiles:**
We are open to candidates across three primary profiles:
* **Profile A (Infra Operations):** Strong focus on operating and maintaining bare-metal infrastructure (switches, firewalls, servers, SAN/backups, firmware and kernel upgrades, and infra ticketing).
* **Profile B (Application + Telco):** Quick learner on application integration and L1/L2 support on telco platforms (ideally from vendors or operators like Ericsson, ZTE, Nokia, Huawei, etc.).
* **Profile C (Hybrid):** A well-rounded combination of infrastructure operations and telco application support.
* **Company Culture:**
We operate in a multinational, fast-paced, and high-trust environment. While embedded directly on-site at customer premises, you will collaborate with engineering teams across Europe, thriving on consulting-style autonomy, proactive problem-solving, and continuous learning.
* **Responsibilities:**
* Take over and manage day-to-day operations, maintenance, and L1/L2 support for the bare-metal Cell Broadcast application and underlying infrastructure post-vendor deployment.
* Conduct system health checks, performance monitoring, capacity/log housekeeping, and preventive maintenance.
* Detect, diagnose, and resolve L1/L2 technical incidents within contracted SLAs using log analysis and packet inspection, escalating complex issues to L3/R&D teams in Europe with detailed technical qualification.
* Own incident tickets end-to-end, maintaining regular communication with customer stakeholders and keeping ticketing tools updated.
* Prepare, execute, and validate system changes, firmware/kernel upgrades, maintenance windows, pre/post checks, and rollback plans.
* Support live alert tests and operational exercises in coordination with the customer and national authorities.
* Participate in product training for 3-4 months before go-live, then work on-site rotating shifts of 8-9 hours (morning, afternoon, evening) in Jurong East.
* Join weekly and ad-hoc client meetings, contribute to monthly operational reporting, and maintain comprehensive operational runbooks and technical documentation.
* **Required Qualifications (Must-Haves):**
* 5+ years of relevant hands-on technical experience in enterprise systems administration, network operations, or technical support.
* Strong Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration, shell scripting, and hands-on incident troubleshooting.
* Solid understanding and hands-on troubleshooting of IP networking, including L2/L3 switching, enterprise firewalls, and packet capture/analysis (tcpdump/Wireshark) and log analysis.
* Solid grasp of telco basics.
* Proven customer-facing communication skills and end-to-end L1/L2 ticket handling experience.
* Fluency in written and spoken English.
* Willingness and ability to work on-site five days a week in Jurong East (no remote work) and work 8-9 hour shifts (morning, afternoon, evening) after go-live.
* Ability to leverage AI tools to increase efficiency and optimize delivery.
* **Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves):**
* Prior experience working on telco platforms (e.g., Ericsson, ZTE, Nokia, Huawei) or as a Resident Engineer / Field Technical Engineer (FTE).
* Experience with FortiGate firewalls and Dell N-Series switches.
* Scripting and automation skills with Ansible or Python.
* Networking or Linux certifications (e.g., CCNA, RHCSA/RHCE).
* Familiarity with containerization (Kubernetes), VMware virtualization environments, or version control (Git).
* Domain knowledge of Public Warning Systems or Cell Broadcast standards (CBC, CBE, 3GPP).
* Proficiency in the French language (useful for collaborating with the engineering HQ in Paris).
* Singapore Citizens / Permanent Residents preferred (EP holders also considered).
* **Success Metrics for the Role:**
* **High Agency & Autonomy:** You are comfortable operating without daily direct supervision or rigid playbooks, taking initiative to make sound decisions under ambiguity.
* **Client Ownership:** You naturally establish rapport and credibility with enterprise telecom clients as the face of the company on-site.
* **Curiosity & Technical Rigor:** You are driven to investigate underlying system issues, learn new architectures, and share operational improvements.
