Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Health & Safety Compliance
- Conduct inspections in line with OSHA 1994, identifying unsafe practices, acts, and conditions, and ensuring corrective measures are implemented.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements across all operations.
- Provide advisory support to management on measures to safeguard employee health, safety, and environment.
- Instill and promote OSH awareness through training, communication, and daily practices.
- Maintain property life safety systems in partnership with the Maintenance Manager/Officer.
B. Hygiene & Food Safety Oversight
- Ensure compliance with the Food Act 1983, Food Hygiene Regulations 2009, and other applicable food safety laws.
- Conduct regular hygiene inspections of kitchens, food preparation areas, storage facilities, and event venues.
- Monitor food handling, storage, and sanitation practices to prevent contamination and spoilage.
- Support training of staff on hygiene protocols, personal hygiene, and food safety standards.
- Compile hygiene audit reports and recommend corrective actions to management.
- Ensure proper documentation and audit readiness for food safety compliance.
C. Environment & Sustainability
- Promote environmentally responsible practices in waste management, recycling, and resource usage.
- Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and company sustainability policies.
- Provide advisory input on initiatives to reduce environmental impact during events and operations.
D. Reporting & Documentation
- Compile reports of investigated accidents, incidents, near-misses, dangerous occurrences, occupational poisoning, and diseases.
- Collect, analyze, and maintain statistics on workplace safety and hygiene incidents.
- Prepare monthly inspection reports and submit findings to the Operations Manager.
- Ensure all documentation is audit-ready and compliant with regulatory requirements.
E. Training & Awareness
- Conduct daily and monthly HSEH inspections, including First Aid Kit checks and replenishment.
- Support training programs to raise awareness of health, safety, environment, and hygiene standards.
- Provide advisory sessions to staff and management on compliance requirements.
- Promote a culture of safety, hygiene, and accountability across all departments.
F. Operational Support
- Perform duties as scheduled by the Operations Manager based on operational needs.
- Support event operations by ensuring safety and hygiene standards are upheld during setup, service, and breakdown.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by the Operations Manager.
KEY ATTRIBUTES
- Strong knowledge of OSHA 1994, Food Act 1983, hygiene regulations, and environmental compliance.
- Analytical skills to identify risks and propose corrective measures.
- Professional communication and advisory abilities.
- Reliability and accountability in inspections and reporting.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to influence safe and hygienic practices.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum qualification: Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Food Safety, or related field.
- Certified Safety & Health Officer (SHO) or equivalent qualification is preferred.
- Prior experience in HSE or hygiene compliance within food & beverage, catering, or event operations.
- Knowledge of accident investigation, risk assessment, and hygiene audits.
- Familiarity with workplace safety, food safety, and environmental sustainability standards.
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
