We are looking for an Azure Presales Consultant who is both a proficient Azure-native solution architect and a credible solution seller, comfortable in the boardroom, at the architecture whiteboard and in the commercial proposal. A cloud professional who is deeply skilled in Azure solutioning, enjoys consultative selling, understands the local enterprise landscape, and wants visible ownership in a growing Microsoft-focused business.
You will partner with Sales, Delivery and Microsoft stakeholders to uncover customer priorities, design secure and scalable Azure-native solutions, and sell them, leading the journey from first conversation to signed engagement.
Accountabilities:
1. Discover and shape the right opportunity
- Lead structured discovery sessions with business and technical stakeholders to clarify objectives, current-state constraints, workloads, risks, timelines and success measures.
- Qualify technical fit, delivery feasibility and commercial viability early, helping the team focus on opportunities where aCloud can create meaningful value.
- Translate customer needs into clear solution hypotheses, scope boundaries, assumptions and next steps.
2. Architect credible Azure-native solutions
- Design end-to-end Azure-native and hybrid-cloud solutions across identity, governance, networking, compute, storage, security, monitoring, resilience and cost management, using native platform services in preference to generic lift-and-shift.
- Develop migration and modernisation approaches, including landing zones, workload assessment, application and infrastructure migration, re-platforming to Azure PaaS and cloud-native services, backup, disaster recovery and operational readiness.
- Apply Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and Azure Well-Architected principles to produce solutions that are secure, reliable, operationally sustainable and commercially sensible.
- Create high-level and detailed solution architecture, bills of materials, effort estimates, implementation roadmaps and statements of work in partnership with Delivery.
3. Sell the solution and win deals
- Lead customer presentations, architecture workshops, demonstrations and proof-of-concept discussions that sell the value of Azure-native solutions to technical and executive audiences.
- Own technical content for proposals, tenders, RFP/RFI responses and solution presentations, ensuring accuracy, clarity and a strong value narrative.
- Build business cases using cost, risk, productivity and transformation outcomes rather than relying on product features alone.
- Partner with Sales on deal strategy, account planning and qualification, and own the solution-selling motion through to negotiation and close.
- Handle technical objections, competitive positioning and solution trade-offs with sound judgement, positioning Azure-native options clearly against alternatives.
4. Strengthen our Microsoft go-to-market motion
- Collaborate with Microsoft account and specialist teams on co-sell opportunities, workshops, solution plays and customer engagements.
- Contribute reusable architectures, proposal assets, discovery tools, demo stories and industry-specific solution patterns.
- Keep current with Azure capabilities, pricing models, incentives, licensing considerations and relevant competitive developments, then translate updates into practical field guidance.
- Provide market insight to leadership on customer demand, repeatable offers and capability gaps that should shape aCloud's growth roadmap.
Requirements:
- Hold a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
- Have 5 or more years in cloud consulting, solution architecture, infrastructure consulting or technical presales, with meaningful customer-facing ownership.
- Experience working in a Microsoft partner, systems integrator, managed services provider or consulting environment.
- Proven depth in Azure-native solution design across several of these areas: infrastructure, networking, identity, security, governance, migration, PaaS and cloud-native services, resilience, monitoring and cost optimisation.
- Demonstrated ability to sell solutions, with a track record of shaping deals with Sales, presenting to executives, handling objections and contributing to closed Azure engagements or measurable pipeline.
- Experience leading discovery workshops and converting business and technical requirements into architectures, scopes, effort estimates and proposals.
- Ability to explain complex technical decisions in clear business language to CIO, IT leadership, architects, engineers and procurement stakeholders.
- Strong written communication and disciplined documentation, including architecture diagrams, assumptions, risks, technical proposals and statements of work.
- Commercial awareness, including scope control, effort and cost estimation, delivery risk, value articulation and margin-conscious solutioning.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent demonstrable architecture capability. Additional credentials in Azure administration, security, networking, data or AI are an advantage.
- Experience with Azure Landing Zones, Azure Migrate, Azure Arc, Azure VMware Solution, Entra ID, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Azure Monitor, FinOps or Azure-native platform services.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Security, Data and AI, allowing you to identify broader customer transformation opportunities.
- Exposure to Singapore enterprise, regulated-industry or public-sector environments, including security, governance and compliance-driven requirements.
