ROLE SUMMARY

The Product Owner is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and evaluating the work of a software Scrum team across multiple live products (Matchbank, PHUB, Genealogy), so that features ship on time, work as intended, and align with the company's vision and customer needs.

The role is the bridge between the business strategy and the technical implementation. It takes complex or loosely defined business needs and turns them into simple, clear, buildable solutions that both sides understand.

This position is open to both Malaysian and Indonesian candidates.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Product ownership

• Develop and maintain the product backlog across all owned products, ensuring it is prioritized and aligned with business goals.
• Make prioritization and trade-off decisions, and own the reasoning behind them.
• Analyze user feedback, product metrics, and market trends to inform product decisions.

Requirements and delivery

• Work closely with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements, and break complex ideas into simple, actionable solutions the team can build.
• Write clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria, including edge cases, so developers can build without repeated clarification.
• Collaborate with development teams to plan sprints, effort, deployment, and release readiness.
• Coordinate with product designers to create mockup and prototypes.
• Facilitate sprint planning, review, and retrospective meetings.
• Lead UAT: define test scenarios, coordinate stakeholder sign-off, and manage feedback into fixes and improvements before release.

Stakeholder management

• Act as the primary point of contact between the development team and stakeholders.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project status regularly.

Process and quality

• Keep Azure DevOps (or the team's system of record) accurate and current as the single source of truth for backlog, sprint status, and UAT.
• Facilitate postmortems and root cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents, and follow through on corrective actions.
• Maintain product documentation (specs, flows, decision logs) across the products owned.
• Use AI tools to automate routine work such as story drafting, status updates, meeting notes, and backlog preparation, so more time goes to decisions and stakeholders.

Team support

• Guide and review the work of the Junior Product Owner, who supports documentation, user stories, UAT coordination, and administrative tasks.

JOB REQUIREMENT

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in product management, product ownership, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
• Able to explain complex ideas in simple terms and turn them into clear, actionable solutions, for both business and technical audiences.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Experience with product management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Linear, or similar.
• Working understanding of software development processes, including testing and release.
• Comfortable using AI tools to improve personal and team productivity.

COMPETENCY

• Experience in the finance or real estate industry is a plus.
• Knowledge of user experience (UX) design principles is a plus.
• Working understanding of data analysis and product metrics.
• Team player, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision, with a positive working attitude.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with working in a remote team is a plus.
• Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Good interpersonal skills to handle stakeholders and align people with different priorities.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
