This role drives business growth by developing strategic client relationships, securing new business opportunities, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams. It is accountable for achieving sales targets and building a sustainable pipeline of long-term client engagements.
Key Responsibilities
Market Strategy & Development
- Conduct in‑depth analysis of mainland China’s macroeconomic policies, sector‑specific regulations, and evolving corporate service needs; formulate and execute bespoke market entry and growth strategies.
- Leverage dual‑market expertise (HK & Mainland) to identify niche opportunities in cross‑border M&A, tax restructuring, ESG compliance, and family office advisory, designing differentiated go‑to‑market plans.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Proactively engage C‑suite executives, board members, and family‑office principals of leading mainland enterprises, listed companies, and multinationals; build a structured client portfolio across SOEs, POEs, and foreign‑invested entities.
- Convert transactional engagements into multi‑year retainer agreements through trust‑based, strategic advisory, maximizing long‑term client lifetime value.
End-to-End Sales Leadership
- Own the full sales cycle for complex M&A and corporate advisory mandates – from preliminary diagnosis, tailored solution pitching, commercial and legal negotiations, to contract finalization and post‑signing handover.
- Orchestrate cross‑functional teams (legal, tax, industry research, post‑deal integration) to structure viable solutions that bridge cross‑border regulatory and accounting divergences.
Resource Orchestration & Brand Amplification
- Act as the primary liaison between HK headquarters and mainland operational units, efficiently mobilising internal specialist pools and external partners to deliver responsive, high‑quality client service.
- Collaborate with marketing to produce thought‑leadership content (e.g., white papers, executive roundtables), elevating the firm’s visibility and authority in mainland China’s premium advisory market.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Law, Accounting, or a related field; advanced qualifications are advantageous.
- At least 8 years’ experience in business development or consultative sales within corporate or professional advisory services.
- Proven success in securing high-value mandates and achieving revenue targets.
- Strong C-suite and business-owner network across mainland China and Hong Kong.
- Sound knowledge of cross-border regulatory, tax, accounting, investment, and market-entry matters.
- Ability to manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting to contract handover.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Excellent commercial, negotiation, presentation, and proposal-writing skills.
- Willing to travel between Hong Kong and mainland China
