Job Description
Responsibilities
We’re looking to recruit a Marketing Executive to join our fantastic team of innovative B2B marketers.
Let me start by explaining what Terrapinn does. We own events. We don’t do events for other people, we conceive, produce, sell and run them entirely ourselves. It’s exciting, fast-paced and entrepreneurial. In the Singapore office we run around 15 large scale events a year, across Asia. We run them across a variety of subject areas: Solar & energy storage, education, rail, electric vehicles telecoms, hospitality and more. Attendance at our events is anywhere between 1,000 – 30,000 people.
The role of the marketing executive is to create awareness of your event, generate leads for the sales team and to generate direct bookings. You will do this using a variety of marketing channels: email, web, digital advertising, social, partnerships, content marketing, direct sales and sometimes traditional press advertising.
If our event is held in Singapore your marketing campaign will be Pan-Asian, if the event is held in a local market, for example the Philippines, your campaign will be very localised. Both require a lot of research, planning and execution.
No one day is the same for a marketing person at Terrapinn. You could be doing social posts one day, Facebook advertising the next, negotiating a partnership with an association or media owner the following day. You need to be organised, very organised, actually super organised! And be able to organise those around you.
You also need to be something of an all-rounder and be able to engage both sides of your brain. You need to be creative: looking for solutions, writing great copy and briefing designers. You’ll also need to be analytic; be obsessive about data, understand segmentation, and be able analysis campaign performance.
At Terrapinn we use world class marketing technology to market our events. You’ll be fully immersed in our CRM and marketing automation systems, plus become an expert on Facebook, Google and Linkedin advertising platforms. You’ll be supported and trained to a very high level.
In short, the kind of person we’re looking for should be creative, analytical and organised. The role is ideal for someone that is genuinely interested in marketing, understands the role of different media and channels and is desperate to learn about marketing quickly. And some-one that can write copy that sells.
We’re looking for someone with a decent degree in Marketing, Business or Psychology (although not limited to these) who has recently graduated.
We have a great working environment with plenty of opportunities. Success will mean you’ll be given the opportunity to move into a more senior role in marketing. We do lots as a team. Since we recruit bright, interesting people we have a lot of fun working together. We’re launching new events and developing new concepts. It’s an incredibly exciting time to join the team.
We work 4 days a week in the office, then Friday mornings from home and finish at lunchtime - so you'll get paid for 5 days but only work 4.5!
It's a really great feeling when a marketing piece that you conceived, wrote and placed starts pouring in response. If you feel the same, apply.
