Assistant Project Manager – High Voltage (Live Line / OPGW)

Purnama Solution (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a fast-paced, hands-on Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of High Voltage transmission, Live Line and OPGW projects.

This position requires someone who can combine technical knowledge, project management, team leadership, site execution, documentation and client presentation skills.

This is not an office-only or documentation-only position. The successful candidate will be expected to travel regularly to project sites, manage site teams, coordinate manpower and resources, monitor progress and represent the company during client and technical meetings.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in planning and executing High Voltage / OPGW projects.
• Manage and coordinate Site Supervisors, technicians, workers and subcontractors.
• Plan daily and weekly site activities, manpower and equipment requirements.
• Monitor work progress against project programme and daily targets.
• Coordinate OPGW stringing, pulling, tensioning, sagging and related transmission-line activities.
• Understand technical site issues and coordinate practical solutions with the project team.
• Identify delays, constraints and risks early and develop recovery actions.
• Coordinate mobilisation of manpower, vehicles, machinery, tools and materials.
• Travel between project sites and manage multiple teams where required.
• Attend site inspections, coordination meetings, technical meetings and client meetings.
• Prepare and present project progress updates to clients and management.
• Prepare Daily, Weekly and Monthly Progress Reports.
• Prepare meeting minutes, work programmes, method statements and technical submissions.
• Maintain proper project documentation, progress photographs and work-completion records.
• Support measurement, progress claims, variation works and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate closely with Safety personnel to ensure compliance with High Voltage and Live Line safety requirements.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, productivity and quality.
• Ensure assigned actions are followed through until completion.
• Support testing, commissioning, handover and project close-out.

Candidate Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related technical field.
• Preferably 3–5 years of project/site experience.
• Experience in High Voltage transmission, overhead lines, OPGW, utility infrastructure or similar projects is highly preferred.
• OPGW stringing or Live Line experience will be a strong advantage.
• Able to manage approximately 20–30+ personnel including supervisors, workers and subcontractors.
• Strong technical understanding combined with good management capability.
• Able to work in a fast-paced project environment.
• Able to work independently and make practical decisions on site.
• Strong planning, coordination and follow-up skills.
• Good problem-solving ability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to prepare professional reports and project documentation.
• Able to prepare and deliver PowerPoint project presentations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Willing to travel extensively throughout Malaysia and stay outstation when required.
• Valid driving licence preferred.

• Maintaining documentation continuously rather than preparing it only when requested.

Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
