Overview
We are seeking an experienced Risk Manager to manage and execute Mirae Asset Securities (Singapore)'s risk program, with a primary focus on operational risk and secondary support across other areas of the risk function — including credit risk and daily risk monitoring.
Candidates with hands-on experience building and running RCSA processes, operational incident workflows, and first-line policy coordination within a MAS-regulated securities or brokerage environment will be highly regarded. This role is ideal for an individual comfortable executing a risk framework in a firm still standing up its risk function, working across risk categories as needed, and operating within a defined second-line sign-off structure rather than having full discretion.
Key Responsibilities
Execute the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process across trading operations, settlement, IT, and the retail trading platform, including scheduling, data collection, first-cut ratings, and maintaining the risk register between periodic cycles.
Log and classify operational incidents against the firm's risk rating metric, and drive root-cause analysis with the relevant department; refer any incident rated High or above to the Risk function for final severity sign-off.
Chase department heads on outstanding control gaps and first-line policy coverage against the firm's operational risk taxonomy.
Coordinate with the Compliance function and business units on third-party/outsourcing risk monitoring inputs, feeding into the Risk and Compliance Committee's (RCC)vendor review.
Draft operational readiness assessments for new product proposals ahead of RCC review.
Prepare operational risk papers and reporting packs for the RCC and senior management.
Support daily monitoring of positions and exposures against quantitative risk limits.
Assist with ad hoc data pulls and dashboard maintenance as directed by the Risk function.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum of4–7 years of relevant experience in risk management or internal audit within a securities brokerage, bank, or asset manager, with a strong grounding in operational risk.
Genuine RCSA and incident-management execution experience.
Working knowledge of MAS regulatory expectations in relate to operational risk requirement.
Comfortable executing frameworks in a firm still building out its risk function, and covering more than one risk category as the role evolves.
Strong stakeholder management, analytical, and communication skills — able to hold department heads accountable on control gaps without formal authority to compel them.
Excel proficiency expected; this is not primarily a reporting/dashboard role.
Prior experience at a firm mid-build (new licence, new platform launch), or exposure to incident/RCSA tooling, will be advantageous.
