Job Summary

Manage and coordinate laboratory works so as to provide timely response, accurate data and smooth operations. Assist Laboratory Manager in achieving and maintaining the financial and qualitative objectives of the Laboratories and oversee & re-enforce desired quality & safety control systems to meet laboratory’s requirements.

Responsibilities

• Organize and prioritize sample testing to provide good customers’ service without delay and strive for excellence to maintain and increase revenue.
• Communicate clearly with inspection staff and clients to ensure smooth operations, support project work and collaborations to achieve company’s goals.
• Ensure all samples received are logged in with unique identifiers and are traceable.
• Review test reports and liaise with inspection / operations staff and clients.
• Ensure proper housekeeping is maintained in the laboratory in line with Good Laboratory Practices.
• Liaise and work closely with technical staff on equipment and testing problems to minimize delay so as to provide efficient services.
• Participate and show concern for quality and standards in quality system, initiate new procedures and controls.
• Participate in internal quality audits as directed by the Management.
• Assist in the training efforts of the company & monitor round robin sample test data.
• Monitor safety issues and assist in implementing and enforcing them.
• Supervise, monitor laboratory analysts / technicians’ daily activities.
• Deputize the Laboratory Manager in his/her absence or when necessary.
• Monitor and improve the laboratory’s productivity, targets and overall KPIs.
• Manpower scheduling and allocation duties.
• To undertake any assignments, as and when necessary, as directed by the Laboratory Manager.
• Additional duties or tasks as requested by the Company from time to time.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience in laboratory operations and quality control systems
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and clients
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate team schedules
• Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices and safety standards
