Job Description

Responsibilities

Position Overview:

The Client Coverage Group (“CCG”) is seeking a motivated and commercially minded AVP / VP to support the structuring, credit assessment and execution of infrastructure financing transactions. Working closely with senior members of the team, the successful candidate will take ownership of transaction workstreams across financial analysis, structuring, due diligence, credit approval, documentation, underwriting and syndication.

The role will cover a broad range of financing products, including project finance, acquisition and leveraged finance, HoldCo financing, bridge financing and other structured credit solutions. The successful candidate should be comfortable analysing complex financing structures and corporate credit risks. Key responsibilities include to:

  • Evaluate, structure and execute financing opportunities across the Company’s target sectors and financing products.
  • Conduct detailed commercial and credit due diligence, including the assessment of business, financial, structural, contractual and transaction-specific risks.
  • Analyse proposed financing structures, including debt capacity, leverage, structural subordination, security, cash flow protections and covenant packages.
  • Build and review financial models and perform cash flow, leverage, debt capacity and downside sensitivity analyses.
  • Identify key credit risks and develop appropriate structural, contractual and covenant protections.
  • Prepare credit applications and present financing proposals for internal approval.
  • Lead or support transaction execution workstreams, including transaction coordination, documentation, completion of conditions precedent and financial close.
  • Review and negotiate financing terms and documentation in coordination with internal and external legal counsel.
  • Support underwriting and syndication processes, including preparing lender presentations, managing lender Q&A and coordinating with participating financial institutions.
  • Prepare client materials and participate in structuring discussions, transaction negotiations and selected client pitches.
  • Work closely with Legal, Risk, Treasury and Institutional Coverage teams throughout transaction evaluation and execution.
  • Complete KYC, pipeline management, portfolio monitoring and other internal reporting requirements.

Knowledge and Experience Required:

We are looking for intellectually curious, commercially minded individuals who thrive in a dynamic transaction environment. The successful candidate should have:

  • A relevant university degree with at least 4–7 years of relevant experience in infrastructure finance, acquisition finance, leveraged finance, structured finance, private credit or a related financing role.
  • Experience in one or more of the following sectors would be advantageous: Digital & Social Infrastructure, Energy & Utilities, Natural Resources, and Transportation & Industrials.
  • Experience in acquisition, leveraged, HoldCo or other structured financings would be highly advantageous. Candidates whose experience is predominantly in project finance should demonstrate meaningful exposure to corporate credit analysis or more complex financing structures.
  • Strong credit analysis and financial modelling capabilities, including the ability to assess cash flows, leverage, debt capacity, structural subordination and downside scenarios.
  • A good understanding of financing structures, security packages, covenant frameworks and contractual protections.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple transaction workstreams, prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented and collaborative, with the ability to interact confidently with senior colleagues, clients, advisers and other transaction stakeholders.
  • Appointment at the VP level will require demonstrated transaction leadership, sound credit judgement and the ability to manage client and stakeholder interactions.
