About the Role
The incumbent plays a pivotal role in formulating analytics, execution and control of monthly management results within the FP&A space and processes. The role requires significant interaction with finance team, cross functional teams, respective department managers and upper management as and when required.
Reporting to the Finance Director, the incumbent will drive the business planning and budgeting process by managing the Company's financial reporting, planning, analysis and projections. In addition to refining corporate strategy via FP&A pillar, he or she will work with the Finance team under the leadership of the Finance Director and Senior Vice President (SVP) to implement transformation projects for finance related processes.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Consolidation and review of monthly management results throughout the region on a timely basis, ensuring accuracy, completeness and required reconciliations to relevant reporting systems. This includes direct responsibility over several activities/processes that formulate part of the overall consolidation.
- Managing the delivery of the forecasting process including understanding Board of Directors (BOD) requirements, organising, and issuing deadlines, instructions, and templates to countries, consolidating and reviewing numbers with country leadership prior to submitting to BOD
- Create dynamic budget templates, manage planning and budgeting deliverables including understanding BOD requirements, organising, and issuing deadlines, instructions and templates to countries, consolidating the regional plan and submission to senior management.
- Partnership with business units and Head of Department (HOD) to support the delivery of specific projects (including business transactions) by providing accounting advice and financial management support, e.g. financial modelling. This includes but is not limited to due diligence activity.
- Take responsibility for the expense management and acquisition costs reporting and analysis, including a monthly monitoring of actual versus forecast versus plan and prior year. Identify and track unbudgeted expense/acquisition items.
- Continually develop and pursue best practices for the financial management systems based on business needs to improve accuracy, speed, and effectiveness of the reporting process. Support users (and finance function) by overseeing their business needs and providing regular training.
- Provide on-going support to the finance team and business units when required. This includes calls with finance management from time-to-time.
Financial and Management Reporting
- Responsible for monthly pre closing activities:
- Work closely with GL Accountant/ Finance Executive on OPEX related accrual & prepayment;
- Perform GL/CC Reclassification whenever is required
- Ensure timely and accuracy to meet the reporting deadline
- Run Depreciation/ Amortisation in SAP
- FOREX revaluation process in SAP
- Run Internal Order Settlement Rule in SAP
- Examine, analyse, and prepare monthly financial results for Senior Management within agreed reporting timelines.
- Review financial performance against historical results, budgets, and forecasts, and perform variance analysis.
- Prepare presentation slides of monthly financial results, including analysing any fluctuation as well as identifying key business and profitability drivers, for reporting to Senior Management
- Work closely with finance team to ensure the integrity of the financial data generated to stakeholders.
Financial Planning and Forecasting
- Assist in the Company’s annual budget process to prepare budgets, review and present to Senior Management for approval.
- Provide YTD expenses report and template for the latest estimate for the year end closing to the other departments
- Create dynamic budget templates, manage planning and budgeting deliverables including understanding ad-hoc request from BOD and management team.
- Analyse the data provided by the other departments and have discussion with them to in case of any query
- Budget compilation and consolidation
- Prepare Budgeting slides for presentation to board and management team
- Prepare budget upload file and upload into SAP
- Business partnering with various department and work together with management/HODs with data-driven analysis to make informed decisions.
- Reporting of Department expenses and monthly meetings with individual department on OPEX spending and variance comments
- Provide strategic financial planning support to management/HODs with data-driven analysis to make informed decisions.
- Enhance data integrity and reporting controls to enable agile scenario reporting and analysis.
Business Process Transformation
- Drive business processes improvement, assess operating effectiveness of internal controls and make recommendations to improve business processes & financial data integrity with the aim to continually improve internal processes.
- Implement business intelligence tool/data analytics tools and dashboard reports to drive efficiency and analysis over revenue and cost processes.
- Work closely with IT Team to streamline the process and system improvement related to the financial reporting in SAP
About You
- CPA/CA qualified including business degree/BSc/BA in accounting, finance, or related discipline, or equivalent. An MBA would be considered a vital asset.
- 3-5 years’ FP&A experience from Pharma, FMCG, and Healthcare industries, specifically in finance & accounting field.
- Professional accounting designation (e.g. CPA, CMA, ACCA) highly desirable
- Sound judgement, financial acumen, analytical and planning skills. Understanding of complex financial accounting process and procedures
- Strong problem-solving skills, organized, attention to detail / meticulous
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, incl. Macros and Advanced Microsoft Excel skill sets
- Proficient in accounting / finance software, ERP systems. SAP proficiency is preferred
