ABOUT THIS ROLE

As a Digital Payments Analyst within the Payment Acceptance team, you will play a critical role in supporting and optimizing Ria's digital payment acceptance operations across APAC (Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore) and the Middle East as part of our regional expansion. The role focuses on the full spectrum of digital payment methods in these regions, including local schemes such as PayNow in Singapore, FPX in Malaysia, PayID in Australia, and other alternative payment methods relevant to each market, alongside traditional card processing.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end performance of digital payment acceptance in these regions, including authorization rate optimization, cost management, vendor performance, and new payment method rollouts. The role requires a highly detail-oriented profile, deep knowledge of regional payment ecosystems, and the ability to navigate the diversity of payment infrastructures, regulatory frameworks, and consumer preferences that characterize APAC and Middle East markets. While the focus is on digital, the role may evolve to cover additional areas as Ria's footprint grows.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own performance, cost, and reliability of digital payment acceptance across APAC and Middle East markets, including cards, local schemes (PayNow, FPX, PayID), bank transfers, and other alternative payment methods relevant to each market.
  • Monitor and optimize authorization rates, processing costs, fees, and overall payment funnel performance across all digital payment methods in scope.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of payment trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape in existing and prospective markets, supporting strategic decisions on payment method mix and market expansion.
  • Support the launch and expansion of payment methods in new markets, including the Middle East corridor expansion, working closely with local teams to ensure the right payment mix is in place from day one.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to surface optimization opportunities across the payments chain, prioritize integrations, and support the launch of new digital payment products.
  • Source and evaluate new payment vendors and partners in the region, supporting commercial and technical assessments, contract negotiations, and onboarding.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with external partners, including local acquirers, PSPs, card networks, and alternative payment method providers, driving dialogue around performance, commercials, and joint initiatives.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on APAC and Middle East payment rules, local scheme requirements, and regulatory frameworks, partnering with Legal and Compliance to ensure adherence.
  • Act as a liaison between Payments and other internal teams (Finance, Treasury, Product, Engineering, Legal), driving cross-functional alignment and ensuring payment operations are properly designed, implemented, and continuously improved.
  • Serve as the regional point of contact for digital payment operational incidents, ensuring rapid resolution and proper post-incident analysis.
  • Create and maintain operational documentation and processes that allow payment operations to scale efficiently with business growth.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in Payments, with hands-on exposure to digital payment methods in APAC and ideally also Middle East markets.
  • Solid knowledge of regional payment ecosystems, including local schemes such as PayNow (Singapore), FPX (Malaysia), PayID/NPP (Australia), and other alternative payment methods relevant to APAC and the Middle East.
  • Strong understanding of card processing, transaction flow, scheme rules (Visa, Mastercard, and regional schemes), and merchant account setup.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate them into actionable recommendations.
  • Solid financial modeling skills, with experience supporting commercial decisions involving payment costs, interchange, and vendor pricing structures.
  • Solid e-commerce experience, with familiarity in digital payment flows and checkout optimization.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex problems and propose practical, scalable solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with internal stakeholders and external partners across multiple regions and seniority levels.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced, multi-market environment.
  • Strategic thinker with high initiative, capable of operating independently and driving outcomes with minimal supervision.
  • Comfort working across time zones and with culturally diverse stakeholders.
  • BA/BS degree required; MBA preferred but not essential.

PERKS & BENEFITS
  • Annual leave and medical leave benefits.
  • Comprehensive hospitalization and surgical insurance coverage.
  • Company-sponsored selected professional certifications, training, and continuous learning programs.
  • Exposure to cross-border legal, regulatory, and commercial matters across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) at a discounted rate.
  • Periodic employee engagement, wellness, and team-building activities.
