Responsibilities

Position: Outdoor Play Teaching Assistant Intern

Age Group: Children aged 3–6 years old

Employment Type: Internship Full Time

About the Role

We are looking for an energetic, caring, and responsible Outdoor Play Teaching Assistant Intern to support our teachers in creating fun, safe, and meaningful outdoor learning experiences for young children.

The intern will assist with outdoor play, physical activities, nature exploration, games, and hands-on activities that encourage children to develop their confidence, coordination, teamwork, creativity, and curiosity about the world around them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers in planning and conducting age-appropriate outdoor play activities.
  • Support children during outdoor games, physical activities, nature walks, and exploration.
  • Encourage children to participate actively and confidently in outdoor activities.
  • Supervise children closely and ensure their safety during outdoor play.
  • Assist with setting up and packing away outdoor equipment and learning materials.
  • Support activities that develop children's gross motor skills, coordination, balance, and physical confidence.
  • Encourage teamwork, sharing, communication, and positive social interaction among children.
  • Assist children in exploring nature, plants, insects, weather, and their outdoor surroundings.
  • Help manage transitions between indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Provide additional support and encouragement to children who may need guidance.
  • Keep outdoor play areas and equipment clean, organised, and safe.
  • Observe children's participation and share relevant observations with the lead teacher.
  • Follow all school safety, supervision, and child safeguarding procedures.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Diploma/Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Sports Science, Psychology, Science, or a related field.

  • Enjoys working with young children aged 3–6.
  • Energetic, patient, caring, and responsible.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and participating in physical activities.
  • Enjoys nature, outdoor exploration, and hands-on learning.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willing to learn and take initiative.
  • Previous experience working with children is an advantage but not essential.
