1. Plan, prepare, cook and present dishes within restaurant or company guidelines.

2. Develop ideas for menus, taking into account availability, cost of produce, food supply and customers’ tastes.

3. Contribute to improving profit margins and controlling food costs.

4. Operates like a lower-level manager.

5. Being organized and able to work in fast-paced, high pressure situations is important.
