About Our Group
We are the Global Factory Information Technologies (GFIT) team at Seagate. Our mission is to drive digital transformation across global manufacturing operations through data, analytics, automation, and Artificial Intelligence.
Our team develops intelligent solutions that improve operational efficiency, enhance decision-making, and unlock business value from large-scale manufacturing and engineering data. We work closely with business, engineering, and technology teams to enable the next generation of smart factory capabilities.
About The Role - You Will
As an Application Security and SSO Remediation Intern, you will work with GFIT application teams and Site Operations to accelerate remediation of factory applications. This is a hands-on role combining software development, application security, identity integration, web operations, and responsible use of AI to improve remediation throughput and consistency. Your responsibilities may include:
- Developing and maintaining reusable application components and implementation patterns for SSO remediation across Windows and Linux environments.
- Reviewing application code and configuration for alignment with GFIT login specifications, secure coding practices, session handling, identity validation, audit logging, and required test evidence.
- Supporting web application remediation, including SSL/TLS enablement and SAML SSO using Shibboleth Service Provider as the preferred approach, or supported Native SAML where appropriate.
- Working with application developers and Windows or Linux web administrators to troubleshoot integration, deployment, certificate, metadata, claims, proxy, and environment issues.
- Applying AI-assisted coding and agentic techniques to improve code discovery, analysis, remediation, testing, documentation, and repeatable delivery workflows.
- Supporting selected application teams with design, implementation, functional testing, security validation, deployment readiness, and production handover as needed.
What You Will Gain
- Hands-on experience remediating enterprise applications for secure authentication, SSL/TLS, and SAML 2.0 Single Sign-On across Windows and Linux environments.
- Practical exposure to application security, secure coding, identity validation, session management, audit logging, certificates, claims, and role-based access control.
- Experience working with identity and web technologies such as Shibboleth Service Provider, Native SAML, Oracle OUD/LDAP, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, reverse proxies, and web servers.
- Opportunities to apply AI-assisted coding and agentic techniques to code analysis, remediation, testing, documentation, and repeatable delivery workflows.
- Mentorship and cross-functional collaboration with application developers, Information Security, IAM, Site Operations, software engineers, architects, and technology leaders.
- End-to-end experience supporting design, implementation, functional testing, security validation, deployment readiness, and production handover for factory applications.
About You
We are looking for candidates with a developer mindset who can work across application code, identity technologies, and web infrastructure. You should have:
- Foundational Identity and Access Management knowledge, including Oracle OUD/LDAP, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, AD groups, claims, and role-based access control.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools and techniques, including code generation, code review, test creation, documentation, and agentic workflow automation.
- Ability to communicate implementation details clearly with application developers, Information Security, IAM, and Site Operations teams.
Your Experience Includes
- Bachelor’s or master’s students in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Good programming and debugging skills in one or more languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or similar enterprise application technologies.
- Foundational knowledge of application security, secure software development, authentication, authorisation, session management, certificates, SSL/TLS, and common web security risks.
- Working knowledge of SAML 2.0, Single Sign-On, Shibboleth Service Provider, Native SAML, reverse proxies, web servers, and Windows or Linux administration.
