Our client is a fast-growing, global lithium-ion battery manufacturer expanding its production facility in Serendah, Selangor. They are looking for a Finance Manager to oversee financial planning, cost accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls. The role focuses on analyzing manufacturing costs, improving cost efficiency, supporting business decisions through financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Analyze financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to management to support business growth and profitability.
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, management reports, and KPI dashboards.
• Develop financial models, forecasts, budgets, and business cases to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
• Prepare profitability analysis by product, customer, and business unit, and support pricing decisions through detailed cost and margin analysis.

Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance

• Manage product costing, standard costing, and variance analysis to ensure accurate product cost information.
• Monitor manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and production efficiency; analyze material, labor, and overhead costs and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
• Review and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) and standard cost structures to ensure costing accuracy.
• Conduct cost analysis for new product introductions and capital investment projects.

Compliance, Controls & Audit

• Ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), tax regulations, statutory requirements, and company policies.
• Establish, monitor, and continuously improve internal controls, financial policies, and governance processes.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings.
• Identify financial risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies to safeguard company assets.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead, coach, and develop the finance and cost accounting team to achieve departmental objectives.
• Collaborate closely with Operations, Production, Procurement, Sales, and other departments to provide financial insights and support business decision-making.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial processes, reporting efficiency, and cost management.
• Comply with the company's Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures, and participate in EHS programs and training as required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ICAEW, or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong experience in manufacturing finance and cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, with prior managerial experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, financial analysis, internal controls, and manufacturing accounting.
• Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or NetSuite; proficient in Microsoft Excel, with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools an added advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide business insights.
• Meticulous and detail-oriented, able to work under pressure while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
