Job Description

Responsibilities

At TNG Digital, part of TNG Digital Group, we build the tech behind TNG eWallet, one of Malaysia’s most used apps for payments and everyday life.

Millions of people rely on us daily, not just to pay, but to manage money, access financial services, and get things done faster and simpler.

Behind it all is a team that likes to question how things are done, move quickly, and try new ideas. If you enjoy solving real problems and seeing your work used at scale, you will feel right at home here.

Role Overview:

We are hiring an Associate Manager, Total Rewards to support the analysis and delivery of TNG Digital's reward programmes across annual pay adjustments, short- and long-term incentives, allowances, benefits and rewards analytics. The role runs supports pay and reward cycles, works with employee data at both aggregate and individual level, and prepares clear, accurate analysis for management review. The strongest candidate pairs solid Excel and data skills with a willingness to learn, grit, adaptability and a real sense of ownership.

What You'll Do:

Annual Pay Adjustments

  • Support the annual salary review cycle end to end: eligibility and effective-date checks, budget and increase modelling, merit and promotion adjustments, and final reconciliation before approval.
  • Prepare employee-level and aggregate analysis of pay positioning against market and internal reference points, and flag outliers, compression and anomalies.
  • Build the pay-adjustment case for management review, showing the headcount, cost and distribution impact of proposed changes.
  • Maintain accurate adjustment records and a clear audit trail, and prepare the communication and payroll hand-off for each cycle.

Short-Term Incentive

  • Support the annual short-term incentive and bonus cycle, including eligibility, performance-rating inputs, funding-pool calculation and individual payout modelling.
  • Prepare scenario analysis and management reporting on incentive cost, spread and distribution.
  • Maintain participant records and support the governance and approval steps for each award cycle.

Long-Term Incentive

  • Support LTI and ESOS nomination, grant and vesting cycles, including eligibility, award data, valuation inputs and participant records.
  • Prepare scenario and cost modelling for proposed grants and reconcile award data before approval.

Allowance Design and Delivery

  • Support the design and periodic review of allowances (for example: position, standby, shift, phone and meal), including eligibility rules and rates.
  • Benchmark allowance practices against market data and internal peers, and model the cost impact of proposed changes.
  • Resolve routine queries and maintain allowance policy notes and rate tables.

Benefits Design and Delivery

  • Support the design, renewal and delivery of employee benefits, including medical, flexible benefits, insurance and wellbeing programmes.
  • Analyse benefit utilisation, uptake and cost by plan and population, and identify trends, gaps and value-for-money issues.
  • Maintain plan data, policy documentation and employee-facing benefit communications.

People, Rewards Analytics and Personnel Cost

  • Produce recurring rewards and personnel-cost reporting, including headcount, cost, budget-versus-actual and forecast views.
  • Reconcile data across HR, payroll and finance systems, investigate data-quality issues and maintain controlled, reviewable models.
  • Build analysis and dashboards that answer a defined business question and state the finding, affected population and financial impact.
  • Support ad-hoc rewards analytics and management reporting for HR, Finance and leadership.

Role Requirements:

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Willingness to learn: actively picks up unfamiliar reward concepts, asks useful questions, applies feedback and improves after mistakes.
  • Grit and follow-through: stays with difficult data or process issues until the cause is understood and the agreed action is complete.
  • Adaptability and agility: reprioritises calmly when assumptions, timelines or requirements change, and works through ambiguity without losing control of detail.
  • Ownership and an entrepreneurial approach: treats outcomes as personal commitments, spots gaps without being told and proposes practical improvements.
  • Experience working with compensation or comparable employee data at both aggregate level (headcount, cost, distribution, movement, trends) and individual employee level (eligibility, pay position, effective dates, exceptions, calculation accuracy).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel: formulas, lookups, conditional logic, pivot tables, structured datasets, data cleaning, reconciliation and error checks, and the ability to build a model with visible assumptions, traceable formulas and an independent control check.
  • Strong numerical reasoning: reconciles totals, detects outliers, tests assumptions, explains movements between periods and distinguishes a data issue from a genuine business result.
  • Understanding of compensation fundamentals: salary structures, market positioning, annual salary review and the cost impact of proposed changes.
  • Clear written communication: turns analysis into a short conclusion that states the decision required and the financial and employee impact.
  • Discretion and sound judgement in handling confidential, employee-level pay data, including access and file-sharing controls.

Experience and Education

Must Haves

  • A degree or equivalent professional qualification in human resources, finance, economics, business, statistics or a related field.
  • Typically 2 to 4 years of experience in Rewards, compensation, HR analytics, payroll analytics, finance analytics or another data-intensive field.

Plus & Nice to Haves:

  • Familiarity with recognised market survey data is a plus
  • Direct experience in compensation analysis, annual pay adjustment or incentive and benefit administration is an advantage.
  • Exposure to STI, LTI, allowances, benefits or workforce-cost analysis, and to a regional, multi-entity or regulated organisation.
  • Hands-on experience running recurring pay, rewards, data analytics, including input validation, data analysis, reconciliation, and findings presentation.
