We are working with a leading US law firm with a highly regarded international transactional practice and a longstanding, established presence in Asia. The firm is looking to attract talented associates to join its Corporate M&A / Private Equity and Banking & Leveraged Finance teams in Singapore.

These are two distinct opportunities within the same international platform, offering exposure to some of the most significant and complex transactions across Asia-Pacific.

We are particularly interested in hearing from ambitious associates currently practising within leading international or global law firms in common law jurisdictions, including London, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Ireland and the United States.

Previous experience in Asia is not essential.

The Firm & Opportunity

The firm offers the combination of a prestigious US law firm platform, a highly respected Asia-Pacific practice and genuinely sophisticated cross-border work.

Its Singapore office plays an important role in the firm's wider Asian operations, advising leading international financial institutions, private equity sponsors, institutional investors and multinational corporations on major transactions throughout the region.

Opportunity 1 — Corporate M&A / Private Equity

The Corporate team advises leading private equity sponsors, international investors and multinational corporations on sophisticated cross-border transactions across Southeast Asia and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

The practice has a particularly strong focus on private equity and complex international M&A, with continued investment in its regional capabilities.

Work includes:

• Large-cap and mid-market mergers and acquisitions, including cross-border acquisitions and disposals.

• Private equity investments, leveraged buyouts, sponsor-led transactions and exits.

• Joint ventures, strategic investments and minority acquisitions.

• Complex corporate transactions involving leading financial sponsors, institutional investors and multinational corporations.

• Transactions spanning sectors including technology, digital infrastructure, healthcare, energy, consumer businesses and financial services.

We are interested in associates with strong Corporate M&A or Private Equity experience gained at a leading international law firm, particularly those who have developed substantive transaction management, drafting and negotiation skills.

Opportunity 2 — Banking, Debt & Leveraged Finance

The Finance practice is internationally recognised for its work on sophisticated banking and financing transactions, advising major financial institutions, lenders, sponsors and corporate borrowers across Asia-Pacific.

Associates will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of significant international financing transactions, including:

• Leveraged and acquisition finance, including financing arrangements supporting major private equity and corporate acquisitions.

• Syndicated lending, secured financing and complex cross-border credit facilities.

• Structured lending, refinancing and other sophisticated debt financing arrangements.

• Transactions involving international banks, institutional lenders, private credit providers and leading financial sponsors.

• Multi-jurisdictional financing arrangements requiring close coordination with international counsel and other specialist practice groups.

We are interested in associates with strong Banking & Finance, Debt Finance or Leveraged Finance experience gained within a leading international practice.

Experience representing either lenders or borrowers will be considered, with particular interest in candidates who have worked on sophisticated cross-border financing transactions.

Candidate Profile

For both opportunities, we are particularly keen to speak with lawyers who can demonstrate:

• Experience gained within a top-tier international, global or US law firm, practising in a common law jurisdiction.

• Strong technical foundations in either Corporate M&A / Private Equity or Banking / Debt / Leveraged Finance.

• Exposure to sophisticated transactions, ideally involving international clients, financial institutions or leading private equity sponsors.

• Excellent drafting, analytical and commercial skills, with a desire to assume increasing responsibility.

• The ambition to build a long-term career within a leading international transactional practice.

Candidates do not need experience in both disciplines. Applications are welcomed from lawyers specialising in either Corporate M&A / Private Equity or Debt / Leveraged Finance.

International applicants are actively encouraged to enquire. Previous Asia-Pacific experience is not a prerequisite, and we would be particularly interested in speaking with strong associates considering a move to Singapore from another major international legal market.
