Role Description

We are seeking an analytical and commercially aware professional to transform complex information into clear visualisations, useful insights, and actionable recommendations. You will work with clients or internal stakeholders to understand their objectives, define analytical questions, and agree on suitable measures of success.

Your responsibilities will include gathering reporting requirements, assessing available data, and preparing datasets for analysis. You will investigate performance trends, compare customer or business segments, and identify factors that warrant further exploration. This includes validating calculations, resolving inconsistencies, and documenting metric definitions so that stakeholders can interpret results consistently.

For data visualisation responsibilities, you will design dashboards and reports that make important information easy to find and understand. You will select appropriate chart types, organise content around user needs, and develop filters or interactive features where useful. You will also review usability, accessibility, and dashboard performance, incorporating feedback to improve the reporting experience.

For consulting responsibilities, you will structure analytical work, discuss findings with stakeholders, and translate evidence into recommendations linked to business objectives. You will explain assumptions and limitations, distinguish observed patterns from established causes, and support the evaluation of proposed actions. The role also involves maintaining documentation, delivering user training, and reviewing whether analytical outputs remain relevant as requirements change.

Qualifications

• A degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Information Systems, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
• Experience in data visualisation, business intelligence, analytics consulting, research, or insights development.
• Proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio, or a comparable reporting platform.
• Strong SQL skills and the ability to retrieve, combine, and validate data from multiple sources.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Understanding of data modelling, aggregation, metric definitions, and their effects on report accuracy.
• Ability to choose appropriate visual formats and design dashboards that support specific user questions and decisions.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to investigate trends, assess alternative explanations, and identify data limitations.
• Experience gathering stakeholder requirements and translating business questions into a structured analytical approach.
• Clear presentation and writing skills, with confidence explaining findings to non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with Python, R, statistical methods, or qualitative research is an advantage, depending on the consulting focus.
• Strong organisational skills and a collaborative approach, with attention to documentation, confidentiality, and the responsible use of data.
