Job Description

Responsibilities

Position Overview:

Schoolscan is a School Journey Management System. It brings admissions, student

information, learning, and parent communication into one platform, built by educators and

parents so every child has a positive school journey. We're looking for someone who

understands schools from the inside and can speak with conviction about what it's like for

teachers, school leaders and families to manage daily life through technology. You'll help

schools see how a better experience for parents and staff leads to stronger enrolment and

retention, and you'll bring what you hear back into how we design the product.

Responsibilities:

1. Sales Generation:

  • Identify, prospect, and cultivate leads within the education sector, particularly private and international K-12 schools.
  • Conduct thorough research to understand the specific needs, pain points, and challenges educational institutions face in managing their operations.
  • Lead demos built around real user journeys, such as a parent making an enquiry, a teacher taking attendance or a family paying fees, showing how Schoolscan makes daily school life easier rather than simply listing features.
  • Effectively communicate the software's features, customisation options, integration possibilities, and scalability to meet each institution's unique requirements.

2. Relationship Building:

  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers, such as heads of school, principals, admissions directors, teachers and parent bodies (PTAs), to understand their goals and align our solutionaccordingly.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to educational institutions, providing insights, recommendations, and guidance on the effective implementation and utilisation of our software.
  • Proactively follow up with leads and prospects, ensuring timely responses to enquiries, providing additional information as needed, and addressing any concerns or objections.

3. Sales Cycle Management:

  • Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure, including proposal preparation, contract negotiation, and contract signing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as product development, implementation and customer support, to ensure smooth transitions and successful onboarding of new customers.
  • Track and report sales activities, pipeline status, and revenue forecasts using the company's CRM system.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging market opportunities, leveraging this knowledge to fine-tune sales strategies and maximise revenue potential.

4. Customer Success and User Insight:

  • Foster strong customer relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by providing ongoing support, addressing concerns, and proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the customer experience.
  • Collaborate with the customer success team to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the existing customer base.
  • Gather feedback from school staff and parents on how they use Schoolscan day-to-day, and share it with the product and design team.
  • Speak up for the user experience, both in conversations with schools and within the company.
  • Stay curious about developments in ed-tech and consumer apps that shape what families expect from technology.

Qualifications:

  • A teaching or school background (for example, as a teacher, head of year, admissions officer, school administrator or school leader) is preferred. Experience in ed-tech or education-sector sales will also be considered.
  • Curiosity about technology and user experience: you notice when an app makes life easier or harder, and you can explain why.
  • The ability to speak credibly about what it's like for families and school staff to manage school life through technology, such as keeping up with class chat groups, chasing forms and fee reminders, or keeping track of several children.
  • A real interest in education, families and how schools work.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and confidence presenting to school leaders.
  • Self-motivated and target-driven. Experience in sales, business development or school admissions is an advantage, and we will train the right person in our sales process.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to overcome objections and secure commitments.
  • Able to learn new software quickly. Familiarity with CRM systems is a plus.

Nice to have:

  • Experience as a parent or caregiver of school-age children. This provides valuable insight into family life, but it is not required.

Join us in shaping how schools and families experience school life, from the first enquiry to

graduation. If you know schools, care about families and get excited about technology that

makes life simpler, we'd love to hear from you.

Pay: RM5,500.00 - RM6,600.00 per month

Benefits:

  • Health insurance
  • Maternity leave

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Sales: 3 years (Preferred)

Work Location: In person
