As the Vice President – People & Culture, you will provide strategic leadership for the People & Culture and Corporate Support Services (CSS) teams, including the organization’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) portfolios.
You will partner closely with the Senior Leadership Team and business leaders to translate HTT’s business strategy into integrated people, workplace and sustainability strategies. Your portfolio will encompass workforce planning, talent acquisition, rewards, talent management, performance, employee engagement, culture, employee relations, workplace administration, facilities management, occupational safety and health, ESG and organisational effectiveness.
Your primary mission is to make People & Culture a competitive advantage for HTT while ensuring an efficient, safe, sustainable and well-managed workplace that supports the organization’s growth and business continuity.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. People & Culture Strategy and Organisational Development
- Develop and execute the People & Culture strategy aligned with HTT’s vision, growth plans and business priorities.
- Advise the Senior Leadership Team on workforce planning, organization design, succession, culture and organisational effectiveness.
- Lead organisational transformation and change management initiatives.
- Ensure people’s strategies and organisational capabilities support HTT’s current and future business requirements.
2. Talent Acquisition, Rewards and HR Operations
- Provide strategic direction for talent acquisition, employer branding, and recruitment planning.
- Oversee compensation, benefits, payroll governance, recognition, and employee welfare.
- Ensure HR operations, policies and practices are effective, consistent, and compliant with applicable employment legislation.
- Strengthen recruitment capabilities and talent pipelines to attract candidates who align with HTT’s values and culture.
3. Talent, Performance and Leadership Development
- Lead talent management, career development, succession planning, and leadership development.
- Strengthen performance management through effective goal setting, regular feedback, performance appraisal, and performance improvement practices.
- Build internal capabilities and establish a sustainable talent pipeline for critical and leadership positions.
- Partner with business leaders to identify high-potential employees and establish appropriate individual development plans.
4. Employee Experience, Engagement and Culture
- Champion a meaningful and inclusive employee experience throughout the employee life cycle.
- Lead employee engagement, well-being, retention, and culture-building initiatives.
- Strengthen HTT’s values and high-performing team behaviours across the organization.
- Provide leadership on employee relations, grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace concerns.
- Ensure employee matters are handled consistently, fairly and in compliance with applicable legislation.
5. Corporate Support Services
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Corporate Support Services team.
- Oversee workplace administration, facilities, company assets, security, maintenance and other corporate support services.
- Ensure HTT’s workplaces are safe, functional, organized and conducive to employee productivity.
- Oversee vendor selection, service standards, contract performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Support business continuity, emergency preparedness, and operational resilience.
6. Environmental, Social and Governance
- Develop, obtain leadership alignment on, and drive HTT’s ESG strategy, roadmap, priorities and measurable action plans.
- Lead environmental initiatives relating to energy, waste, resource usage, responsible procurement, and sustainable workplace practices.
- Strengthen social initiatives covering employee well-being, diversity and inclusion, responsible employment and community engagement.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to strengthen ethical conduct, accountability, data privacy, and responsible business practices.
- Establish ESG performance indicators and coordinate the collection, validation, and reporting of ESG information.
- Ensure that ESG commitments and sustainability reporting are accurate, transparent, and supported by appropriate evidence.
7. Occupational Safety and Health
- Lead the organization’s OSH strategy and ensure compliance with applicable safety and health legislation.
- Oversee the OSH Committee, workplace risk assessments, incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Ensure appropriate safety training, emergency-response procedures and employee health initiatives are implemented.
- Promote a proactive safety culture and shared accountability for workplace health and safety.
- Monitor OSH performance and recommend preventive or corrective measures where required.
8. Digitalization, Analytics and Continuous Improvement
- Lead the digital transformation of People & Culture and Corporate Support Services through systems, automation, analytics and the responsible use of AI.
- Establish relevant performance indicators and dashboards to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Use people and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Continuously review processes, service standards and operating models to improve efficiency, governance, and employee experience.
9. Budget, Governance and Team Leadership
- Plan and manage the People & Culture, CSS, ESG, and OSH budgets and resources.
- Ensure relevant policies, frameworks, and standard operating procedures to remain effective and compliant.
- Lead, coach and develop the People & Culture and CSS teams by establishing clear priorities, responsibilities and performance expectations.
- Foster collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth across both teams.
- Champion the purpose of making People & Culture a competitive advantage while creating a safe, efficient and responsible workplace.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial and Organisational Psychology or a related discipline.
- Professional certification in HR, ESG, sustainability, corporate governance or OSH would be advantageous.
- At least 12 years of progressive HR experience, including senior leadership responsibilities.
- Broad HR experience across talent acquisition, rewards, talent management, performance, engagement and employee relations.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment, industrial relations and OSH requirements.
- Working knowledge of ESG, sustainability and responsible business practices.
- Experience in organisational transformation, HR digitalization, analytics, automation or AI adoption.
- Proven ability to advise senior leaders and lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience leading corporate support services, workplace administration or facilities management will be added advantage.
- Travel, hospitality or service industry experience would be advantageous.
