Healthcare Assistant (Senior Care Centre)

• Assist and supervise elderly clients at the centre and during programmes and activities
• Accompany clients during transport to and from the centre, assisting them with boarding, alighting and safety while in transit
• Help clients with personal care, including feeding, toileting and mobility
• Assist with positioning, transfers and walking (ambulation) of clients
• Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse) and report observations to the nursing staff
• Assist nursing staff with basic clinical tasks, such as simple wound care
• Follow infection control procedures at all times
• Keep the centre clean, including equipment, furniture and tools
• Communicate with clients, families and the care team on clients’ needs and wellbeing
• Carry out other tasks and ad hoc projects as assigned by the Centre Manager or supervisor

Requirements

• WSQ Certificate in Healthcare Support
• Experience in eldercare, community care or a healthcare setting is an advantage
• Compassionate and patient, with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to work with elderly clients and their families
• Willing to work based on roster (daytime) and on alternate Saturdays (morning half-days)
