About the role

We are looking for an experienced Payroll & Immigration Executive to manage the full lifecycle of clients on contract and self-employment arrangements in Malaysia. You will handle everything from Employment Pass applications to monthly payroll and year-end tax filing.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit Employment Pass applications via ESD and the MDEC platform
• Liaise with the Immigration Department and JTK to secure Employment Pass approvals
• Prepare applications for Dependent Pass, Special Pass and other related passes
• Register new employees for income tax, EPF, SOCSO and EIS
• File tax clearances, EA Forms, annual tax returns and the E Form
• Process monthly payroll and prepare payroll remittance sheets
• Validate invoices and incoming payments
• Ensure company and employment-level compliance
• Respond quickly to client and consultant queries by email and phone
• Represent the company in meetings and appointments with the authorities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field
• At least 4 years of experience in payroll, immigration or HR compliance in Malaysia
• Hands-on experience with ESD and MDEC Employment Pass applications
• Good knowledge of Malaysian payroll and tax requirements
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
• Good communication skills in English; Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage

Preferred

• Experience at a payroll outsourcing, employer of record or contractor management company
• Experience working with regional or overseas teams
