HIRING: DESIGN ENGINEER – LEAD-ACID BATTERY & TOOLING DESIGN

MYFutureJobs Negeri Sembilan is assisting an employer in the battery manufacturing industry to recruit a Design Engineer for its operations in Nilai.

Location: Nilai, Negeri Sembilan

Salary: RM7,000 per month

Key Responsibilities

• Develop 3D CAD models and detailed 2D engineering drawings for battery casings, covers, terminals and sealing assemblies.

• Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis and optimize designs for plastic injection moulding and lead-alloy die casting.

• Oversee T1/T2/T3 mould trials, inspect samples, investigate defects and prepare mould acceptance reports.

• Lead DFMEA and implement design improvements to address leakage, deformation and other product reliability risks.

• Establish product testing protocols and acceptance criteria for pressure, electrical performance and environmental ageing.

• Maintain technical specifications, BOMs, engineering change orders and assembly documentation.

• Work with manufacturing teams and tooling vendors to improve manufacturability, material suitability and production costs.

• Coordinate technical transfers between the China HQ R&D team and Malaysian plant operations.

Relevant Technical Expertise

• SolidWorks, UG/Unigraphics or Pro/ENGINEER.

• Mechanical product design, injection moulding, tooling validation and dimensional inspection.

• DFMEA, design for manufacturability and engineering documentation.

• Battery components, sealing processes and material selection relevant to lead-acid battery manufacturing.
