Job Description

Responsibilities

The Group Strategy Director is the strategic leader for two agency brands within the Omnicom Media network, responsible for translating Omnicom Media’s broader strategic vision into a clear and distinctive strategic agenda for both agencies.

Working closely with the agency leads, the role will define and execute each agency’s strategic priorities, raise the quality and consistency of strategic thinking, scale strategic products and capabilities, and ensure strategy plays a meaningful role in driving client and agency growth.

Leading a team of three strategists, the Group Strategy Director combines agency leadership, people leadership, client strategy, product scaling and new business — connecting the broader Omnicom Media strategy ambition with what happens day-to-day within the agencies.

This role reports into the Head of Strategy of Omnicom Media Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

1. Shape and deliver the strategic vision for two agency brands

Partner with the agency leads to define what strategic excellence looks like for each agency and translate that ambition into action.

  • Work with agency leadership to develop, execute and evolve the strategic vision and priorities.
  • Work closely with the Head of Strategy to translate Omnicom Media’s broader strategic agenda into relevant, actionable priorities for each agency.
  • Ensure each agency's strategic approach reflects its own positioning, strengths and client needs while benefiting from shared Omnicom Media capabilities.
  • Develop clear plans to turn strategic ambition into tangible initiatives, behaviours, capabilities and outputs.
  • Act as a senior strategic voice within agency leadership conversations, identifying opportunities to strengthen the role and impact of strategy.

2. Lead and develop direct reports

Lead a team of three strategists, creating a high-performing team capable of delivering both outstanding client work and broader agency impact.

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and mentorship to the Strategy team.
  • Set clear expectations for strategic quality and continually raise the standard of the team's output.
  • Build individual development plans and create opportunities for team members to broaden their skills, exposure and responsibilities.
  • Work with Head of Strategy to ensure the team is connected into the group , fostering a collaborative culture where thinking, tools, learnings and best practice are actively shared.

3. Drive strategic excellence across priority local and regional clients

Provide senior strategic leadership across key client relationships and most important briefs.

  • Partner with client leadership teams to identify where strategy can create greater value for clients.
  • Lead or provide senior strategic direction on major annual planning, transformation projects and high-value briefs.
  • Ensure strategic recommendations are grounded in strong business, consumer, cultural and media understanding.
  • Challenge teams to move beyond tactical responses and identify the bigger strategic opportunity behind client briefs.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior clients and strengthen perceptions as strategic business partners.

4. Scale strategic products and capabilities

Drive adoption and scaling of relevant strategic products and platforms, ensuring they become embedded in how teams work rather than remaining standalone tools.

  • Translate Omnicom Media and agency-level strategic products into practical applications.
  • Develop clear use cases and identify the briefs, clients and moments where strategic products can create the greatest value.
  • Drive adoption through training, demonstration, client application and ongoing advocacy.
  • Capture feedback from teams and clients to help evolve products and identify new capability needs.
  • Work closely with the Head of Strategy to connect agency needs and learnings back into the broader Omnicom Media strategic product roadmap.

5. Drive new business and agency growth

Make strategy a defining strength of each agency’s new-business proposition.

  • Partner with agency leadership to identify the strategic story and competitive advantage that will differentiate each agency.
  • Lead the development of compelling pitch strategies that connect business challenges, consumer insight and media opportunity.
  • Bring together the right capabilities, people and strategic products from across Omnicom Media to strengthen new-business responses.
  • Help identify organic growth opportunities within existing client relationships where strategy can unlock new briefs, capabilities or scopes of work.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means:

  • Clear agency direction: Both agencies have distinct strategic ambitions with clear evidence that those ambitions are being put into practice.
  • Stronger strategic work: The quality, consistency and impact of strategy improves across priority clients and briefs.
  • Scaled products: Strategic products and platforms are actively used across teams and clients, with clear examples of the value they create.
  • New-business impact: Strategy is a visible strength in pitches and contributes meaningfully to agency growth.
  • Stronger client relationships: Senior clients increasingly engage the agencies on upstream strategic challenges, not only media execution.
  • Broader capability: Strategic thinking becomes stronger and more consistent beyond the Strategy team itself.

The Group Strategy Director should be:

  • A strategic leader: Capable of moving between business challenges, consumer understanding and media opportunity to create clear strategic direction.
  • An agency builder: Motivated by strengthening the strategic capability and reputation of an entire agency, not only delivering individual pieces of work.
  • A senior client partner: Credible with senior stakeholders and able to lead challenging strategic conversations.
  • A product champion: Able to turn strategic tools and platforms into real-world applications that teams understand, use and value.
  • A collaborator and connector: able to work effectively across both agencies and the wider Omnicom Media network to bring together the right capabilities around a challenge.
