Excellent opportunity for a dynamic person to join a cable manufacturing company as a Product Engineer (ECM Coordinator) in Kulim, Malaysia. Responsible for engineering change management, manufacturing process development, product documentation control, cost estimation, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure safe, efficient, compliant, and cost-effective production operations.
Responsibilities
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Daily job responsibilities/functions to include, but not limited to:
Write, review and maintain Engineering Change Management (ECM) documentation and work instructions.
Ensure documentation compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 and ISO 9001 requirements.
Responsible for developing safe, efficient and cost-effective manufacturing processes and procedures.
Review product design drawings and develop manufacturing visual aids and supporting documentation.
Prepare labour, material, tooling and equipment cost estimates for quotations and proposals.
Drive utilization of advanced quality tools and methodologies including Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, data analysis and Lean Manufacturing.
Participate in and recommend cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.
Support new product introductions and implementation of new product lines using lean manufacturing principles.
Lead and support continuous improvement activities within and across departments.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve operational objectives.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
Experience in Engineering Change Management (ECM) and manufacturing documentation control.
Experience in electronics manufacturing, cable assembly, wire harness, electro-mechanical or related manufacturing environment.
Exposure to new product introduction (NPI), process improvement and continuous improvement projects.
Skills:
Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and ISO 9001 requirements
Strong analytical, problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong planning, organizational and time management skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across departments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
